Part 1/8 of our 1986 Rockley tasting: Madeira influence is strong but very well integrated. Despite the drinking strength, nicely complex: some peach/mirabelle combined with roasted pecans, reminiscent of armagnac. Tannins not too pronounced, a slight rose note comes in at the finish. Very cool!!

15.03.2019 A nice relaxing evening at home enjoying some samples while watching movies. Notes. Notes. Medium dark colour. Nose: fresh, sweet, plum, dried fruit, light wood, roasted. Palate: light, wood, roasted, dried fruit, wine/Madeira. Finish: medium long, light, wood, nutts, plum.

The Madeira finish is perfect! Not overloaded, nice sweetness, very round at the same time, honey, hardly any smokiness.
