Mezan DDL Guyana 2007
Opinions land in a tight band here: most people enjoy the dark-chocolate, dried-fruit Demerara profile, but several feel the 58% alcohol sits a little proud and that it leans one-note. Expect cocoa, prunes, raisins and old wood, with leather and a faint smoky edge. A few drops of water pull out more depth — almost everyone who rested it came back happier.
- Dark chocolate, cocoa
- Prunes and raisins
- Long woody finish

How does Mezan DDL Guyana 2007 taste?
Aggregated from 26 community reviews.
Dark, chocolatey Demerara that needs resting Most land around 8/10: a chocolatey, dried-fruit Demerara that drinks well once rested. The recurring catch is hot, slightly raw alcohol and a profile some find too one-dimensional.

Fair warning, you have to rest this rum or the ABV will bite your nose and palate. Once rested it is a pretty good especially considering the price tag. The nose is fruity with vanilla, leather and light smoky wood. I also find a very light metallic kind of smell. The palate is fruity with chocolate, vanilla, leather and lightly roasted wood notes. The finish is very long and woody with dried fruit, vanilla and wet tobacco.

Red fruit dominated demerara. Sweet without being sweet. Perfect double cask aging performance.

Vielleicht etwas jung, unausgewogen.
