Wow, a great Demerara. The nose is predominantly chocolate, but malt and cask are also recognizable. The palate is also predominantly chocolate (dark), but cocoa and wood are also recognizable. Alcohol super integrated, pleasing.

Nice Guyana profile, but a bit too one-sided and not very complex for me.

Fair warning, you have to rest this rum or the ABV will bite your nose and palate. Once rested it is a pretty good especially considering the price tag. The nose is fruity with vanilla, leather and light smoky wood. I also find a very light metallic kind of smell. The palate is fruity with chocolate, vanilla, leather and lightly roasted wood notes. The finish is very long and woody with dried fruit, vanilla and wet tobacco.

First Guyana, Diamond distillery First nose "rustic", old wood Concentrated, rough and imposing palate, old wood predominant, vanilla, "orangette" with a slightly bitter dark chocolate and orange background, wrapped by a touch of roasted hazelnut Intense and "dark" side, as the color immediately shows Medium length Interesting, unusual, imposing, but too few aromas on the nose

Very coffee nose tending towards tiramisu, also cherry and with a little orange Chamonix side. Alcohol a bit too predictable, a pity given the age and the taro. Palate on the cherry well marked by the cask. That’s what I would remember from this rum, finish for me way too marked which takes everything away and brings the juice to an almost sickly side not helped by the too present sugar. Not my thing. +0.2 with 3 drops of water.

A very good rum with a strong punch to prunes and raisins - delicious! Caramel tones and vanilla harmonize well. Distinct consistency between smell and taste. Tannins are added on the finish. The only drawback: the alcohol is very present - with a few drops of water, the rum gains even more complexity.
