Geschichte im Glas. Sehr guter, aber für mich kein überragender Rum.

im anderen Glas nochmal den 82er (33 jährigen) BBR Long Pond zum Vergleich. Erstaunlich wie groß die Unterschiede sind! Der IdR ist fruchtiger, mehr Creme und Vinegar, irgendwie LP typischer. Der BBR ist milder, würziger, fast wie ein gereifter Agricole mit Muskatnuss und erdigen Noten. Am Gaumen kommt bei beiden die lange Lagerung durch, und es dominieren Fass und Tabak. Der BBR hat noch einen Tick mehr Süße, der IdR ist etwas röstiger und herber (Limette?). Insgesamt hat der BBR leicht die Nase vorn.

Liquid historie… Sehr ausgewogen, kaum Ester, sehr cremiges Mundgefühl. Aber für mich kein Über-Rum.

I’m very glad to have sampled a 1982 rum. The nose is pretty good but I find that this rum lacks a little fruit in the mouth.

Das ist schon ein Stück weit Geschichte im Glas!!! In der Nase sehr elegant mit feinen Frucht- und Sommerblüten-Noten! Und natürlich altes Fass im Vordergrund! Am Gaumen setzt sich dieses Spiel bis zum Abgang fort! Ein toller Rum, aber wohl etwas über seinen Zenit hinaus!

01.06.2019 Had a nice meet up at this Nordic Rum Fest where we brought some of our own bottles. Notes. Medium dark colour. Nose: fresh, fruity, wood, light roasted, cherry. Palate: oily, wood, roasted, earthy, cherry, light chocolate. Finish: long and warm, medium dry, wood, light smoke, chocolate, dried fruit.

Der älteste Rum der bisher in meinem Glas ist! Die Nase ist sofort auffällig mit einem kräftigen Geruch nach altem modrigen Keller und morschem nassen Holz und Erde. Zum Glück sind da auch noch tropische Früchte, Toffee und Gewürze. Am Gaumen herrschen die Holz- und Fassnoten vor und überdecken die anderen Töne fast vollständig. Der Nachklang ist wie zu erwarten ebenfalls vom Fass geprägt aber nur minimal bitter, eher ledrig und nach Tabak. Ganz zum Schluss kommt nochmal eine eigenartige alkoholisch-metallische Note durch. Das war eine schöne Erfahrung und Geschichtsreise mit einem sehr guten Rum, der aber für meinen Geschmack seinen Zenit überschritten hat.

Sehr alt. Leider etwas zu alt. Der Rum ist sehr trocken und zeigt schon einige Bitternoten. Auch der Alkohol kratzt leicht. Schade, hier hatte Ich Großes erwartet.
