Pas de grande surprise avec les Fiji, les marqueurs sont là. Au nez on reconnaît très bien le profil de cette distillerie : thé vert - cireux et pâtissier. Agrémentés de notes d’agrumes et de colle. En bouche c’est rond et terreux. C’est crémeux et beurré. Avec une note de vanille prononcée. Une finale herbacée avec une légère amertume. Ce Small Batch reprend clairement les marqueurs typiques du terroir fidjien. Mais il manque de folie … Je trouve que les sélections de Rum Bullion sont réussies car reprenant parfaitement les codes des régions mises en avant. Je dirai juste que celles-ci manquent d’exubérance. Et pour des Single Cask, ils pourraient tenter des réductions moins importantes si la sélection le permet. En parlant des embouteilleurs un peu moins connus, il reste de la place pour notre lineup de la semaine prochaine : Elizabeth

Tijdens een vakantie in frankrijk gaf ik in een slijterij aan dat ik wel zin had in een rum uit fiji. Verras me maar. Kreeg deze rum ingeschonken. Als eerste verraste de geur mij. Heerlijk zacht. Bloemig en lichte fruit tonen. De smaak was typisch Fiji. I love it. Rond boterig, bloemig met een lichte kick. Wel aan de zachte kant en de afdronk is ook kort. Voor tijdens een rum avond met vrienden een welkome afwisseling tussen de zwaardere houterige rums.
