A beautiful representative of the 98 Bellevue. A very mature rum that will certainly have its fans among Demerara friends. Alcohol unfortunately not quite perfectly integrated, slightly scratchy at the back. It is not super deep, rather straightforward in taste. The earthy oak/molasses note runs through from front to back. Also comes from a time with good price-performance ratios in the industry (especially with RA).

Really a great rum! Nose: Fruity, Prunes, licorice, smoky, minty & black tea with a hint of yellow habaneros (without the spiciness) Palate: Cappuccino, licorice, dark chocolate, black tea, minty Finish: Long and dry with notes of chocolate, anise, black tea, tobacco and a lot of caramel, Unfortunately, the 4th and last place of my Bellevue tasting.

Re-entry as the comments have disappeared in the app. Nose Wood, light smoky, dried fruit, fruity, light grass, light medicinal. Palate Wood, light smoke, light anise, light leather, dried fruit, light orange, tobacco, balanced, light medicinal, dry. Finish Wood, light smoky, anise, tobacco, light dry. Empty glass Anise, vanilla, light berries, light tea.

For me, '98 Bellevue is often a guarantee for solid bottlings. This is also the case here, but it is not one of the best. Beautiful floral tones paired with fruit and wood. I particularly like the light menthol/mint. me. Solid rum at a great PLV (after a long time of release).

8,9:On the nose, it all starts with pure sugar cane juice, waxy and smoky, juicy orange, mandarine and roasted wood. Quickly molasses check in, additional help to roasted wood at getting nice chocolate, nuts, caramel. As agricole, it flowery and a bit perfumed, fresh and vegetal with some tea. Aeration brings some metallic and dried fruit notes. Molasses overshadows the cane a bit, becomes thick and darker with black tea, prunes and berries, some herbal notes. 9:On the palate, the attack is spicy, fruity with dried, yellow fruits as orange, peaches, a bit minty, as the sugar cane is mineral, waxy, vegetal with tobacco and the roasted wood dry, smoky, with vanilla.Delicious. As molasses is getting stronger, herbal with a sage, there is pastry, the fruits become darker with berries, blackberry, currants. Mint turns to menthol. There is some toasted coconut after nice rest, cinnamon and anise. Balanced and round. 9:The finish is long, the sugar cane is mineral, vegetal, waxy, musty, the wood dry, spicy and smoky. The fruits are yellow, then dried and darker, with berries, melting into marmelade. An upgrade, comparing to Bellevue Black Adder 17 y, 1998

Also a really good rum. The nose is predominantly spicy and very smoky. On the palate, the spices are joined by wood and roastiness. I also find it slightly chocolatey. More than solid overall.

Today in comparison two 1998 Guadeloupe from Rum Artesanal. RX693 and RX488. First of all, both are very tasty, but there are better ones from the 1998 vintage. It's hard to say which of the two has the edge. Each of the two has its merits. Great bottlings but unfortunately not outstanding either.

Fine, drinkable rum, but not quite up to RA's rum (RX12189), which has been aged three years longer, with its delightfully herbal, medicinal angularity.

Day 10 in the Christmas calendar. For me, not a typical Guadeloupe. Just blind I could have put this after St. Lucia...Nose: fruity-spicy and a bit metallic-fresh at the beginning. Something along the lines of blackberry and dried apricot and plum. A pleasant tobacco note with vanilla and light tobacco smoke. Plus a hint of orange and mint that becomes more towards the finish...Palate: spicy-strong here first and then floral-fruity. Some cherry, date, a touch of orange. But then also a bit salty with tobacco and vanilla. At the back also again mint and some anise.A good one!

Das ist eher ein trockener würziger Rum. Meiner Ansicht nach muss man in der Stimmung dafür sein. Dann schmeckt recht gut. Hier stimm vieles überein. Von mir gibts dafür eine Empfehlung. Ist mal was Anderes.

I am actually not so the Agricolefan. But this one is also really one that is suitable for molasses fans. The acricole tones are very nice and form a harmonious pair to the fasstönen. I am really thrilled. For me personally the best Agricole I had so far

Leider fehlen die offenen, freundlichen süß/fruchtigen Guadeloupe-Noten.
