28.11.2017 Meeting up at a friend's house each one bringing a bottle. Pretty surprised that there were 3 Cadenhead's in the pot. Notes Light in colour. Nose Light wood, light roasted, banana, overripe, light cherry, faint smoke. Palate Lightly oily, light wood, faint smoke, cherry, banana, polish, faint rubber. Finish Medium to long, wood, light roasted, dried fruit, polish, warm.

Yeah, just the nose here excites me more than the previous rum neat :) Great Worthy Park, very strong and spicy. On the palate also relatively roasted, lots of coffee and mocha to admire here :)

Time to review some Cadenhead samples before my trip to London. On the nose: Light wood. Glue/polish note. Roasted. Light nutty and leather notes. Somekind of confections note gives sweetness to the palate. A bit alcoholic. Taste: Vanilla, spices, roasted and light mocha notes. Then you get more rubber notes as dominating note. Fruity notes like bananas pop up. The 57% abv is present, but i would still say that its integrated nicely. Finish: Woody and light vanilla notes. Rubber notes. Light smoky notes. Polish notes. Earthy/herbal notes in the background. The rubber notes become stronger the more this rum sits in the glass. Somewhat a easy sipper with light notes. Misses the heavier notes and richer palate in order to receive higher score.

Powerful and directly present - on nose and palate the rum opens with many dark spice notes of black pepper, allspice and dark chocolate. Then follow dried fruits, vanilla, caramelized banana, light lemon notes. The eleven years of aging probably mostly continental, the rum does not feel finally balanced, but the unruly nature definitely has its charm.
