Retasting with the RumX guys. --------- This is another rum from heaven and a typical Jamaica style rum. If you like Silver Seal rum you're considered a rum nerd 😉 This bottle is hard to get your hands on and if you're offered a sampler then you should have a go.

Verkostet am Catawiki Stand beim 1. Deutschen Armagnac Festival mit Serge. Trotz des niedrigen ABV sehr gut gelungen. Schöner ausgeprägter und intensiver Geschmack. Eine wahre Rarität. Bin froh diesen verkosten zu können.

Toller kontinentaler Long Pond, nachdem ich direkt danach Robs 83er probiert hatte geriet dieser aber etwas in Vergessenheit. Nichts desto trotz wundervolle am Gaumen mit einer gut gezähmten Portion Ester.

2. tuning up for tomorrow's 10th GRF Nose: LP, clear. Round and sweet. Buttery with honey, tropical fruits towards papaya and pineapple, totally nice. Floral, almost rose. Ester in the direction of wax and dishwashing liquid. Palate: complex and intense, with butterscotch with vanilla, slightly bitter. Has a great evolution on the palate. A little woody, fruity, spicy. A very good Long Pond .

Tasted at the Catawiki booth at the 1st German Armagnac Festival ... the bottle was open 2 weeks and quite Aromatic. Rather in the low ester range but very fruity, with lots of buttery pineapple on the nose. Palate again fruity with butter and pineapple ... also full-bodied delicious with green banana and allspice. Some (good) wood bitterness and also iodine licorice-like hints with wax round things out. Tasted very good to me.

Trade show review A Long Pond from a different era. Nowadays 6-10% more alcohol would do him good. At that time certainly a world class rum.

Verkostung aus einer fast leeren Flasche, die schon länger offen war. Low-Ester-Profil (VRW?), dem man die Verdünnung vor allem im Abgang anmerkt. Profil ist gut erkennbar, aber nicht sehr lebhaft. Für das Geld eine Enttäuschung, wenngleich es vielleicht teilweise an der Oxidation lag.
