Cihuatán Indigo
Anyone with a sweet tooth easing into rum will find a lot to like here: milk chocolate, vanilla, toffee and roasted hazelnut, soft and rounded at 40%. Several tasters compare it to a Dominican-style sipper and call it a chocolate "crowd pleaser." The catch is a short finish and not much depth — plenty of people note it's easy but plain.

Ouw, this could be good. On the nose a lot of light chocolate, some vanilla, wood and minimal fruit. Pleasant sweetness to the start and fresh at the same time. In the second half, this turns completely to milk chocolate and some nut. Very pleasant wood in between. Nice medium length finish. Super round overall. 'Crowd Pleaser' is very accurate, but in the very best sense! Addendum: The more other stuff I try the better I find it. Incredibly good value for money. Addendum 1: Experienced in tasting - people actually love it 😁

Really not a fan, and not very interesting.

Somewhat thin, vanilla. Cinnamon, chocolate, a little sweet.

Sweet-vanilla caramel and marshmallow notes develop on the nose. A little rougher on the palate: the alcohol initially scratches the soft impression, followed by oak, vanilla and the usual blah blah blah. Coffee and roasted aromas dominate the finish. Quite decent, but I don't need more than the sample.

To finish the "24 days of rum" calendar, I'm going to do 4-5 samples each day. This one is very toffee-in-a-glass in the nose. The notes gave way to dark chocolate, toffee and vanilla. Maybe a bit too sweet for me

Very reminiscent of rum from dominican republic. Chocolate, vanilla, cream, nougat and sweetness all the way with a little bit spiciness on the 👅. Very nice light rum with one flaw- short finish. Otherwise very nice rum for neat sipping. Also great in cocktails.

Spicy gin/pine woody nose. Marshmellows in taste. Other candy flavours. Creamy. Different than expected. Pretty dry too. Starting to like this brand.

Nice taste of peanut shells, greedy but not too much.

Very easy to sip. Too easy actually, missing layers, very plain bordering boring. Nothing bad though, would work when the guys come over. And yes, it has a dosage and it is sweet, but not overwhelming in any way.

Very easy to sip. Missing complexity though.

Original impressions from 2018 rum calendar. Nose: **** Taste: **** Overall: **** ”Solera. Vanilj och örter.” Sample no.14 of the 24 days of rum calendar 2023. Here we go again! Tasted this one in the 2018 calendar and that made me order a bottle. Nose is very pleasant with vanilla, toffee and chocolate. Palate is rich in sweet marzipan, creamy toffee and chocolate. Very nice!

Sehr runder Rum, aromatisch sehr von Vanille, Zitronengras, Karsmell/Haeelnuss geprägt. Alkohol gut eingebunden. Im Nachklang sehr milchschaum-cremige Cappuccino-Note. Feine Sache, ohne groß aufzufallen.

Brussels Rhum Festival 15/03/2025 Way too sweet. Hard to believe there is no sugar in it. Would not recommend this to anyone.

15/03/25: tasted @ Brussels Rhum Festival. I found this to be horrible stuff. Tasted overly sweet and artificial. I find it very hard to believe that no sugar was added. Definitely not my cup of tea.

Read full review →A simple, easy-drinking rum of excellent origin. A less complex body and a shorter tail are balanced by a pleasant sweet taste that will satisfy even less demanding rum drinkers. For fans of sweet spirits, this can be the way to "big rums". All in a nice package for a reasonable price.

This is somewhere between sweet waffles and cheap chocolate pudding from the supermarket. This certainly does not try to be anything it is not. I can understand why people want this, even though it is not for me.
