An excellent PM with continental aging. It's really fun. Overall very solid with a nice interplay of spices, fruit, and herbs. The longer it breathes, the softer aromas come through. The finish is complemented by a strong darker note of mocha and dark chocolate. The alcohol is perfectly integrated.

07.11.2025 Enjoying my last sample of this wonderful rum. Should have bought a bottle back when, but that is how it is, you are not always able to buy when the good ones are there. I find more floral notes than in the previous recorded tasting. ============ 01.05.2019 Nice tasting with friends including my slow cooked pot roast. Colour Light in colour. Nose Wood, light herbal, faint smoke, light grass, dried fruit, faint plum, spice, light anise. Palate Round, oily, light wood, light plum, medium spicy, spice, light honey, faint melon, light grass. Finish Medium long, wood, light roasted, light prunes, dried fruit, light anise, faint medicinal.

Interesting drop, this could have been a Scottish Whisky from the Highlands with a nice Rum Cask finish. It is more in the vegetal side, some spices and a bit of wood. Some fruits are there but they are playing the minor part. Except for the pears, they are great :) So, great Whisky, 9 points, here wo go.

Great representative of continental PMs. Delicate, complex profile where the typical PM note (wood plank in seawater) is complemented by a fine sweetness, fruit notes, and cask influence. Excellently balanced with a long finish where all notes reappear. Class!

Externally, it was not necessarily recognizable as a Guyana rum, very light color. On the nose relatively restrained with tropical fruits. The finish is short to medium length. Slight sweetness with tropical fruits and light barrel influence.

Bottle Fascinating rum. Guyana Overproof very different. Light smoke. Hay. Esters. Sour fruits. Dirty. Everything blends excellently here. Olives. Banana. Salt and a lot. Real fun

Compared directly with the MPMM Banks 1997 PM, the sharpness in the nose is gone, otherwise both rums are very similar on the nose. On the palate, it becomes immediately clear that the alcohol % must be a bit lower and that the TRC bottling was aged longer. The TRC is more complex and much creamier in consistency, especially in the finish where it caresses the palate with creamy anise and more present oak aromas than the comparison candidate. A great rum at a very good price. Good job TRC! 89 points.
