Glue, varnish and ripe banana hit first, then pineapple and a long peppery finish that leans dry. This is a young, navy-strength Worthy Park at 57%, and it drinks like one — plenty of ester and funk, but the alcohol isn't fully tucked in. Several tasters wished for a few more years in the cask, though fans of wild, sticky Jamaica get what they came for.

I love Jamaica, I love technical rums and I love Transcontinental (if my wife were to read this she would not be happy). Since I'm drunk on sweet rums, I'm looking for something different, wild, sticky - exactly what others don't like. This TCRL didn't beat my favorite TCRL Jamaica 2016, but I still get what I need. Aroma - esters, chocolate, spices, glue, varnish, pineapple Taste - spicy, technical, subtle hint of fruit Finish - medium long, warm and rewards you with tropical fruits at the end (I miss a little more wild jamaica there) This rum has been criticized for things that I agree with, but as a fan of TCRL I have to give it 8/10 (if I were objective, it deserves 7 points).

Sometimes things get better about 6-9 months after opened, sometimes they don’t. This is a case of the latter. UPDATE in comparison with 2013 release: The 2013 pot still release is far better than this one. The column still distillation on this one leaves an unfinished, sharp taste with a gluey aftertaste. It feels like it should have spent at least 3 more years in the barrel. This is remarkable considering this actually has more tropical aging than the 2013 pot still version, which just goes to show what a tremendous difference the distillation does to the flavor. I greatly enjoyed comparing these two from wp side by side but trust me, the pot still 2013 version is the one to get.

Solid Worthy Park, but a few more years of barrel aging would not have hurt. Still seems a bit impetuous, even if the fruity freshness and the spice are positive to note. However, it lacks a counterbalance by somewhat heavier notes from the wood and sweetness, which would have given the rum a more pleasant balance. Here I would have been interested in the result after a little more storage time or but with a finish from a sweet wine barrel. So bleibts for me a Worthy Park in the rear part of the known to me field of participants.

#4990 20.12.2024 Enjoying some samples at home. Nose Light wood, faint roasted, light glue, fruity, banana, overripe, light strawberry, faint mint. Palate Light wood, faint smoke, fruits, banana, light pineapple, light mint, light glue. Finish Medium long, wood, light roasted, fruits, light citrus, light banana, light menthol. The empty glass has light chocolate and caramel.

Beatyfull rum. Hit with glue and solvent and the magic happen. First leather with a bit of spice AND then tropical fruits with some chemicals, very intense and very interesting. Super long fruity finish that I do not want to interapt

I could smell this rum as soon as the bartender put it on the bar. It has a classic Jamaican funk on the nose with overripe tropical fruits and fusel oils. This rum has a bite to it with a really good rounded out finish that leaves a mix of banana and pineapple in your mouth.

In the nose, the old familiar and pleasant glue, banana, pineapple and esters. On the palate, it would definitely benefit from a few more years in the barrel, it could use better alcohol integration, but it is a pleasant ester rum with a price around 50€, I would say it's okay.

Der Worthy Park 2012 der Transcontinental Rum Line ist ein ziemlich geradliniger Jamaikaner. In der Nase Banane, Ananas und Ester, dazu etwas Vanille und Holz. Etwas Sprit. Geschmacklich würziger, mit reifer Frucht und einer leicht dreckigen Note. Rundum okay.

Doing a vertical with the TCRL 2012, 2013, 2016 WP Jamaica's. This one is fairly one deminsional. Smell is nice, but taste without water is pretty hot and flat. Water brings it more nicely in focus More banana notes but still kind of 1 dimensional. Fruit definitely comes out more with the water.

A pretty young Worthy Park, with the classic flavour profile. Sometimes rather alcoholic, and I think it would have benefitted from a few more years in the cask. Not a bad bottle, for the price it was OK.

Even my Dad who drinks whisky with cola drinks this rum on the rocks, so IT is good recomendation🤣 To be more serious, I like this destilary, especialy cherry casks bottling was very nice. IT is not the easiest rum to drink, but if you are looking for sweat, fresh rum with hidden % is is worth to try. And of course Oliva G...❤️ Maybe tooo much...🤣

Light color, strong nose of glue or varnish, which I'm not really a fan of. Very elegant on the palate but very surprising to have a very fine whisky with the full aromatic palette of a classic whisky.

Banana cream, vanilla. Light oak. Pale golden pour. Some florals, potpourri on aftertaste. Some old leather. Quite nice, and best of four Transcontinentals I had in a flight at Casta's today.

Nase: wenig spannend für Jamaika. Zu Beginn dominiert eine medizinische Note von Lack und Gummi, bevor die Früchte zum Vorschein treten, der Birne voran noch die Banane. Gaumen: kurzer Vanillestart, dann Kräuter und danach lange lange Pfeffer. Schoko , Holz und Banane erst nachgelagert. Abgang: Banane und Honig, mittellang. Fazit: Die Banane ist omnipräsent. Aber kein Rum der mich fesselt. Dafür zu wenig Frucht und zu pfeffrig.
