Caramel and vanilla lead, soft and sweet, before toasted oak and cocoa finally show up late — and for 23 years, several tasters wish that oak spoke louder. It's a creamy, easy-drinking Panama sipper: butterscotch, ripe banana, a little chocolate, nothing sticking out. Pleasant and polished, but a few members found the sweetness a touch much and the body light for the ABV.

Aquavitae Mülheim October 2025. No idea why, but this Panama is noticeably sweeter than the 8 years younger one. Lots of caramel, vanilla, and chocolate, as well as some wood and cocoa. Roasty stuff, quite alright :)

A little weak on the chest despite the abv. Vanilla, candy sugar, coconut. Nice caramel sweetness, possibly too much. Slightly unround and bitter on the finish. But hardly any wood for its age. Overall, however, not convincing.

Could have done without this one in a night full of tastings. It was quite sweet and not really to my taste but wasn’t offensive. Just a mediocre, easy drinking rum that I would not buy for myself and was not particularly memorable, especially since I had opportunity to try much more interesting things in direct contrast. That said, this is a rum that I think many others would enjoy.

A nice product where you then also notice the age because the toasted wood comes into play here at the end. There are nice flavors present, it invites the next glass, good solid product. You get what's on it, without surprises.

The Panamá-Pacific 23 is a wonderfully matured, dark sipper. Vanilla, molasses, and pineapple meet butterscotch, chocolate, and ripe banana before tobacco and strong oak take over. Despite the long cask time, it remains creamy and pleasantly approachable. I especially like how the initial sweetness slowly transforms into dry wood and cocoa notes. Calm, elegant, and with a wonderfully long finish.
