Well-liked but not one anyone calls remarkable — that's the honest read here. This TDL leans dry and light: soft wood, caramel, cherry and a little medicinal edge, with vanilla and peach on the palate. A few tasters wish the alcohol sat better and the finish lasted; one calls it almost too easy to drink. Pleasant, fresh, and gone before you know it.

The nose is floral and buttery with hazelnuts! But also fruity: cherry! Some sweeter and woody aromas stand out. It is successful and charming. In mouth, it is dense and dry! We find the cherry of the nose, lime and spices. The whole is enhanced by a very pleasant vanilla touch. The finish is slightly acidic and slightly stings the tongue. We have a small minty and iodized effect which remains in mouth. The length is more than respectable on the wood! Nice TDL ! It is fresh, light and can be drunk very (too) easily. But despite everything, it remains complex and fun.

Relaxed Trinidad but nothing extraordinary. Alcohol could be better integrated despite dilution and overall it seems too Spanish for me and has too little of the typical TDL mint and fruit tones...

Herbs and spices dominate on the nose while the fruits with chocolate and wood are in front in the taste.Unfortunately, the rum is very volatile, there is virtually no finish.

My RumRatings review from 5 years ago: On the nose the rum is nicely spicy with a slight smoky note. Orange and tropical fruit come along. Also vanilla and wood aromas. The nose is pleasant and fun. On the palate you quickly taste that it could be an Angostura. It's very similar. Spice pairs with a fruity, caramel-like sweetness. Oak wood and a slight medicinal note linger. The finish is pleasant with some sweetness and bitterness. I'm very positively surprised and find the Kill Devil Trinidad very tasty and pleasant. In comparison, it can keep up well with the 1787, at the same time I would have hoped for a clearer aroma boost from the additional 6%, which however did not happen. Clear competition for the Angostura bottlings, as it's limited. Definitely better than the No. 1 series from Angostura. Solid 8. I'll probably buy a bottle if I find one.

31.01.2020 Relaxing at a small tasting at a local dining place that is no more. Notes. Medium dark colour. Nose: Wood, light smoke, light, medicinal, caramel, dried fruit. Palate: Light, wood, light smoke, caramel, fruity, medicinal, lightly bitter, berries. Finish: Medium long, wood, berries, caramel, faint chocolate.

A sweet and spicy aroma, a little vanilla, quaffable.Also the taste is slightly sweet, a little burning from the alcohol in the finish.Very pleasant.
