Leave this one in the glass before drinking and add a few drops of water to kill the bite from the alcohol. A great example of the difference in tropical and European maturing.

A fascinating PM in the glass. 10 years of continental aging have only induced a little color. The result is a rather light, clear straw-yellow. Looks younger than it is. On the nose, nothing heavy, but a lively beautiful citrus freshness paired with light wood. The ABV is actually not noticeable. I wouldn’t have immediately recognized this as a Guyana PM 10y. On the palate, alongside the citrus notes and light wood, there’s an oily texture and deep aromatics with nice spiciness. Hard to describe, but a great combo of fresh citrus notes and the PM profile. This one is incredibly easy to drink for a Guyana rum. The ABV and heavier aromas are there, but the freshness gives the rum an unusual lightness. Give it some time in the glass to develop, then this bottling is really fun. A dynamic shift from upfront freshness to the PM markers.
