Ti Punch and cocktail drinkers get the most out of this light amber HSE agricole. Fresh sugarcane and lemon open it, then a young, lightly toasted oak folds in with pepper, vanilla and a little walnut. The finish turns to candied fruit and caramel but stays short. Pleasant and easy at 40% — several members wished for a few more degrees to give it real punch.

Vacation Caribbean September 2026. At the airport in Martinique, they actually set up a tasting of 5x HSE in the duty-free shop, where you could taste them for free. I didn't like it that much.

A nice HSE aged under wood that starts the olfactory journey with lemon and fresh, vegetal sugarcane, before letting a young woody, slightly toasted note blend into the mix. The spices gently close this interlude. A light but controlled profile. The woody and spicy notes become more insistent on the palate, with a good dose of pepper and vanilla accompanied by nuts and toasted notes. The citrus, carried by lemon, are still there, followed by sugarcane and grass, more in the background. The profile is once again very light. The finish eclipses the vegetal side to focus on candied fruits, citrus, and dried fruits. Caramel blends with the spicy wood to give a last image of indulgence in the background. A rum that is neither bad nor exceptional, with a correct quality/price ratio, but that could have been more intense with a few more degrees.
