Schlichtweg der beste Fiji, den TRC angefüllt hat! Geile Nase, geiler Geschmack! Nach Cross Tasting mit dem RC Fiji und dem LMDW Fiji ist dieser knapp auf dem ersten Platz weil er für mich die dreckigeren Fiji Noten hat, die ich so mag.

Un rhum fidjien avec un profil charpenté et agréable. Le nez est très complet, les notes médicinales mènent la danse (colle, vernis, caoutchouc, notes minérales) tandis que les fruits emboîtent le pas avec un peu plus de rondeur (papaye, banane, agrumes et fruits secs). Viennent ensuite des notes pâtissières qui se jouent du profil fidjien, généralement assez lourd, pour donner une gourmandise bienvenue aux narines, à laquelle s’ajoutent les épices et le bois. C’est un profil varié, assez volubile et très plaisant. L’attaque en bouche est un peu plus sèche, rôtie et amère que ne laisse présager le nez. Toutefois, le profil conserve sa gourmandise avec les fruits tropicaux, les notes de massepain, de pâtisserie et de fruits confits mielleux. On a une bouche ample, où les notes médicinales et minérales sont toujours présentes, un peu plus tanniques mais plutôt complémentaires avec le profil légèrement épicé. L’alcool est bien intégré. La finale est longue, encore plus sèche, amère et tannique que l’attaque en bouche, pour ne pas dire astringente. Le côté minéral s’associe avec le tabac, les notes fumées, boisées et épicées. Les fruits sont plus effacés, mais leur présence demeure avec ce côté mielleux toujours aussi doux. Un joli embouteillage qui apporte un bel équilibre entre funk et douceur à la fidjienne.

Auch das ist wieder ein guter 2001er Vertreter, wenn auch minimal schlechter als andere Abfüllungen. Liegt vor allem daran, dass er relativ trocken war. Andere haben da noch eine schöne Honigsüße. Ansonsten wieder fruchtige Esternoten mit angenehm dreckigen Noten. Alkohol ist gut integriert.

Typical Fiji with this mineral profile, dry, tannins, freshness. The nose promises some fruits which the palate can’t fulfill, otherwise great dram with well integrated alcohol.

Toller Fiji-Rum! Im Gegensatz zu seinen älteren Brüdern (17 bzw. 18 Jahre) etwas alkoholischer und auch deutlich wilder mit schärferen Aromen, was jedoch bei Fiji nicht unbedingt schlecht ist, da somit der landestypische Charakter deutlicher wird! Leider auch weniger cremig/ölig und vom Mundgefühl her etwas unrunder. Insgesamt ein schönes fruchtig-medizinisches Fiji-Profil mit mineralischen Noten. Gefällt mir!
