This is a really good demerara Rum especially considering the price tag. Even though the ABV has been reduced, there is still a lot of flavours. The nose is woody with leather, tobacco, chocolate, minty and herbal notes. Leave the empty glass for a few hours and then whif it again. The palate is warm and well balanced with wood, spices, tobacco and burnt cane. The finish is long and woody with spice and earthy notes.

The 98 Samaroli is a bit edgy in smell and taste and does not seem quite coherent. On the nose a lot of smoke, tobacco, spices. On the palate, notes of wood and dried fruit, and after a longer standing time, some cherry and grape comes through.

on the nose the wood barrel sets the tone, behind it burnt sugar, earthy, tobacco, also a few herbs. Sounds almost better than it actually is. A bit watery on the palate, otherwise toasty, chocolate, barrel. Not bad, but with the dilution potential was also given away.

Dilution is very noticeable. However, there is still enough taste left to enjoy this one. Rather on the sweet side. Would guess from DDL‘s Savalle Still.

Nez très gourmand, petite déception en bouche même si cela reste très bon. Manque de notes fruités et gourmandes en bouche. Peut-être dû à la grosse dilution.
