Licorice, nougat and warm baking spice lead here, with the grassy agricole side pushed into the background — several tasters call it an untypical Bielle. There's oak, cinnamon and mace, red fruit and a cool menthol touch on the finish, plus an odd plastic-glue note a couple of people flagged. At 52.8% it stays balanced and rounded, more spice-and-wood than tropical.

Yet another nice Bielle, unfortunately it's a rather rare bottle which makes the price go through the roof. The quality is really good but doesn't match the 500 euro+price tag. The nose is wonderful and fruity with spices. In the back there is a light wood note with a hint of nuts. The palate is lightly woody with fruits and spices. The palate is also warm and well balanced with a peppery note and nougat hidden in the back. The finish is medium to long with light wood and lovely fruits. There is a nice balance in spices and a nice refreshing menthol touch. A very good rum but the price is a bit off.

Since DHL is doing who knows what with my package, first a really great Bielle. Has everything you expect from a great Agricole, light sweetness (vanilla, caramel etc.), but also nicely woody and spicy. Strong 💪

Tasted at Bar1802. Sugarcane, brioche, complex citrus aromas, perfect wood maturation, spice. A very fine, very well-balanced Bielle. Perfect balance and nicely smooth. Great for sipping, and it goes down quickly too. 🤣🤣

Cool Bielle with prominent notes of licorice, nougat, spices (cinnamon, mace) and leather. ABV is pleasant and fits well in my opinion. Price is not necessarily the best now, but it's tasty.

A somewhat atypical Bielle, where the classic Agricole markers take a backseat. Probably due to the intense cask, you can taste various spices and licorice. Overall atypical but still tasty :)

Somewhat confusing notes - Bielle meets salty licorice and plastic. Stands out from the Bielle range, the licorice certainly has its charm in combination with wood and subtle notes of fresh fruit and spices - but the plastic note does seem a little strange.

After all the Bielle Velier 2001s, this one is very atypical. Maybe it's because of the Cognac barrel. Hardly any tropical notes, rather spicy, citrus notes, wood, nut, Armagnac.

Very beautiful rum from Bielle, really very elegant and surprising for a Bielle which, I usually find, is full-bodied and has a strong character. A great product from Marie-Galante with finesse and a nice roundness. One of my favorites from the past few weeks.
