This Secrets de fûts release is blended by the former Clément cellar master Robert Peronet. For this release he chosed long toasted French oak barrels. The nose is delicious, mellow, balanced, spicy, woody and fruity with scents of cigar, sugarcane, cinnamon, dried fruits, pineapple and apricots. When it comes to the taste does it unfortunately not live up to the great aroma. At the palate it’s woody, roasted, nutty, spicy, sweet and fruity with flavors of pepper, caramel and lime. The finish is medium long.

On the nose wood, spices, light roasting, vanilla and some dry fruit in the background. On the palate the same aromas with more decision and a good final persistence

Easy to drink, unpretentious but pleasant rum. I drank it after letting it air for about 45 minutes. It's not very complex, although tasted neat, I think it would make a nice ti vieux.
