Extremely exciting nose, almost reminiscent of rhum rhum or wine finishes. However, the rum cask is also present and brings a beautiful woody aroma. On the palate there is a nice smokiness, unfortunately the promise of the nose does not quite match the palate impression. Nevertheless, a very exciting bottling!

8,6:On the nose, sugarcane, herbaceous, vegetal with tomatoes, red bell peppers, roasted oak with burnt sugar, caramelized, dark chocolate, smoky, spicy, medicinal, lemon and yellow fruits, bump into our nosetrils. On aeration, tropical fruits are fermented, buttery, dried join, the cane is grassy with hay, roasted nuts, pastry and biscuits join. 8,5:On the palate, the attack is sweet with sugarcane honey, grassy/hay-ish, herbaceous, vegetal with tomatoes, red bell peppers, mineral, dark with black tea, fruity with tropical fruits, grapes, berries, the oak is roasted with caramel, smoky, tannic and spicy with green pepper, warm. 8,6:The finish is long, dry&tannic, medicinal, sugarcane is green, fresh, vegetal, herbaceous, slightly minty, sweet with honeycomb, oak roasted with nuts, chocolate, caramel, spicy with vanilla, green pepper and fruits yellow, tropical, berries. Velier does it again. The nose is fruity with tobacco and some roasted notes. There is an acidic/sour touch to the nose. The palate is warm and oily with fruit, coffee and a hint of tobacco. The wood note is very light and nice. Medium to long finish that is warm and woody with some berries. Price to quality is OK.

For me, the surprise in my sample box: a wonderful Agricole at an insane price! Great herbal notes, super well-integrated alcohol. I'm really impressed, especially considering the young age of this guy.

Very sour and sharp on the nose. Luckily almost none of that is reflected in the taste. There it is very tart, spicy and slightly caramelized. The finish is medium length with berries and barrel.

Unfortunately at the end this sour Clairin note comes through, which becomes a bit disturbing for me. Otherwise a great rum.

I'm totally into Chelo and his Sajous - I'm already looking forward to the 2025 Vieux Sajous, the last vintages were all individually my favorite daily sippers. This bottling is no less than the big brother, golden it flows almost oily into the glass and forms long legs. On the nose the unmistakable notes of grassy and mineral aromas, plus fruits that also present themselves immediately on the palate. Again a slight bitterness, rather herbaceous and not too sweet - although the smooth consistency certainly conveys this impression. For the price a great bottling, compared to the Vieux Sajous it lacks a bit more body - but it goes straight on the wish list!

Remains my favorite clairin and that for around 50€. In my eyes no difference between this bottling #SJ17BI-2, with slightly lower ABV, and bottling #SJ17BI-3. Super easy drinking, fruity with noticeable Bielle cask influence.

Everything is just right here: great mouthfeel, high complexity for only 3 years of maturation, interesting flavor profile with a good balance between wood and the clairin, alcohol well integrated, super PLV. More of this please!
