Most tasters find this one genuinely different — heavy, estery Savanna full of glue, solvent, ripe banana and smoke, with a spicy toffee backbone. The split is the sugar: several love the fruit-and-glue balance, but a few say a "sirupartige süße" flattens the finish. One reviewer summed it up as very Jamaican-tasting despite the Reunion origin.

Farbe: Bernstein Geruch: Intensiv und aromatisch, süß, fruchtig und nach Estern. Aromen von Banane, Kokos, Sahne, Kräutern und etwas Rauch. Riecht echt lecker. Geschmack: Süß und fruchtig im Mund bevor er würzig wird. Beim Schlucken würziger Toffee, süß mit Sandelholz. Lecker. Abgang: Lang, lecker, wärmend, süß im Nachgeschmack. Würzig, Sandelholz, Zimtblätter und Leder. Fazit: Erinnert mich stark an den Rum Arrangé, den ich mir gerade aus weißem Rum mit einer Trockenmischung aus La Réunion angesetzt habe … vor allen an die darin enthaltenen Zimtblätter. 87 Punkte

Ein intensiver Geruch nach Klebstoff, Lösungsmittel, fruchtig, dazu auch etwas Rauch und Whisky. Der Geschmack ist ebenfalls intensiv und besonders, fruchtig, rauchig, Klebstoff und auch etwas dreckig im Nachklang. Der Körper ist schwer und ölig, der Geschmack hält sehr lange an. Ein äußerst interessanter Rum...

Funny thing: I could not smell a hint of charring before tasting. After tasting it is dominating the nosing. Really delicious; sweet and estery and a hint of burn. Had I been a smoke head this would get a higher rating with me.

Étonnant ce rhum. Nez très doux et fruité malgré des esters et un whisky bien présents. En bouche, passée la brûlure de l'alcool, c'est très Jamaicain : esters, fruits mûrs. Un côté fermenté. Finale assez longue sur une douceur bien agréable, presque caramélisée.

Nase: Whisky-, Rauch- und Klebstoffaromen. Gaumen: Klebstoff und Gummi, gefolgt von rauchigen und verkohlten Noten des Whiskyfinishes. Abgang: rauchig und ganz dezente Süße von Honig zu vernehmen. Fazit: Vertreter aus dem „dreckigen“ Lager. Erinnert an Trinidad. Hat aber trotz der langen Lagerzeit einen relativ kurz anhaltenden Auftritt.

Ganz netter Savanna. Schwer, süß und übberreif mit Holz, Rauchigkeit und viel Klebstoff. Gat mich aber an der Nase etwas mehr überzeugt als am Gaumen, wo er mir zum Abgang hin etwas unstimmig vorkommt.

This is an older tasting. A fruity rum with nice wood and a lovely smoky note. The glue in the profile is there from nose to finish. Price to quality is very good.
