Sitting on my couch enjoying my final sample of this treasure. A wonderfully complex and balanced rum that is kind of a heavy rum. Despite all the years in the cask the oak never takes over and becomes dominant. Nutty with light fruits and wood. There is a hint of nuts and smoke on the palate and finish. There is a hint of caramel and coffee in there as well. A wonderful rum :-)

Have to agree with Volkmar. It's an Enmore and therefore I'm actually guessing a 1971 XPD and believe that the distillation year is not 1969 but 1971. But that's just my guess, as it's very similar to the 1971 XPD at 71.6%.

Top crunchy, roasted Enmore. Wood not dominant, very thick despite low ABV and an eternally long finish. Superb balance
