Enjoying this one right now while preparing for the big Whisky and Rum Event tomorrow. One of my favourite Damoiseau's because of the overall profile and very well integrated ABV. ------- I got this bottle a little over a month ago and I've sipped it a few times. It is now one of my favourite Agricoles. The nose has lots of wonderful spices mixed with fruit, wood and some leather. The Agricole is definitely there and some grassy notes The palate is elegant and complex with spices, chocolate and a sprinkle of banana. Dry warm Agricole in my mind, yummy. The finish is long and warm with orange, wood and vegetal notes. You should rest this nice rum for at least 15vminutes before giving it a go.

A very tasty Agricole, the nose leans more towards spicy and grassy, with subtle fruit notes. On the palate quite mild, despite 58%, which is quite high for an Agricole. Grassy, spicy, with just the right amount of wood influence.

Very good. Less dirty than the 1995, but exciting overripe fruit that lasts a very long time. The fact that there is less volume cannot be tasted. Great fun.

A Damoiseau tested by time that has mellowed. The nose is quite soft and smooth, with fairly varied fruits ranging from orange to banana to prune. Then follow woody notes, leather, a delicately spicy side with a touch of roundness on caramel, sugar cane, and vanilla. An all-purpose nose showing a lot of softness. The attack on the palate is just as smooth with a strong focus on orange, spices (vanilla, pepper, licorice, cinnamon, chili), woody notes leaning towards dark chocolate and leather. The caramel is slightly salty. The alcohol is very well integrated, notably due to its nice age, but overall it lacks a bit of liveliness. The finish is the Achilles' heel of this rum, the aging giving it an unexpectedly limited length. The fruitiness is present at first, challenged by spices, cocoa, but also agricultural and herbal notes. It's very round and soft, at the expense of character. A very good Damoiseau from another era, but lacking some flashy notes to be a bit more exciting.

I find the nose very restrained... even after a long time in the glass I only perceive delicate aromas. Some fruit, floral and sweet. On the palate it spreads soft and smooth. Alcohol almost not noticeable. Sweetish, changing to woody spicy it comes elegantly, I also discover some dried fruit. The finish is plant woody and medium long. A very nice bottling for evening enjoyment.

Less intense than 1995, much more focused on fresh fruit primarily oranges. some licerice. Nice but feel it didn't fully open up for me.

Has similarity to various courcelles and savannas. Horny strawberry notes, nice menthol notes, surprisingly little wood for such a stately age, alcohol perfectly integrated. Absolute board from Guadeloupe!

An incredibly beautiful and round nose. Even a bit fuller than the 19yo. Woody, but fragrant cherry wood. Spicy, towards leather and vanilla. Slightly tart fruitiness, like dried currant, orange peel and prune. A bit of vinegar is present.Full and round on the palate as well. Nice licorice. Slightly tart and salty. Some prune and bitter orange peel. Some caramel sweetness in the background. Licorice lingers on the finish, and grassy sugar cane comes in the back as well, quite typically. This one is still a bit rounder and clearer than the 19yo.

Die Nase relativ unscheinbar. Leichte medizinische süße. Am Gaumen eine wahnsinnige breite. Schöne agrricole noten. Sehr angenehm zu trinken. Toller Abgang. Bleibt lange erhalten. Ich muss zur Quelle Johannes!!! In der Nachtverkostung: was eine Granate!

Wow. This is awesome. I like it even more than the 95. The fruity notes complement the profile very well. The alcohol perfectly integrated. Here, less is more compared to the 95. Perfectly balanced on the palate. Delicious. This is my home. Now I need a bottle 😆🤦♂️

On the nose I get brown sugar and stone fruits. Very fruity on the palate with yellow fruits as well, always with this sugar/syrup from the battery that envelops everything. Just the right amount of wood. One could say an old Martinican agricole (Depaz, JM, Saint James,...). Alcohol very well integrated.
