Very pleasant and wonderfully balanced bottling. Nicely complex without trying too hard, great overall combo. Changes in the mouth in waves and layers. The vintage does not disappoint. The profile is simply something special. Reminds me of a Rockley in terms of complexity level. I hope the distillery releases such a vintage again.

Very very pleasant 2001 Fiji with a balanced flavor profile. The combo of esters and black tea – supported by tropical fruits – just suits me personally. Wood and spice aromas are noticeable but only present in the background.

I like this bottler and I have just oddered three different releases from Jamaica. Their average quality is pretty good and the price tage even better. The nose is fruity with smoky wood, vanilla, tea and a hint of varnish. I love the cherry flavour that becomes clearer if you leave the glass empty for a while. The palate is lightly dry with smoky wood, fruits and spices. There is a lovely minty touch in there as well. The finish is lightly dry with smoky wood and a mix of fruits. Price to quality is very good.

Beautiful Fiji nose. Right from first comes this floral honey sweetness, lovely. Then light and fine the glue. Cherry banana passion fruit potpourri and some artificial strawberry banana HubbaBubba gum. Quite different on the palate: powerful, bitter, full-bodied. Intensely artificial, like soapy plastic with a hint of menthol. But there's also something almost herbaceous green. And spicy it becomes, anise. A beautiful Fiji.

This is my first Fiji and I'm excited to try something new. On the nose I get hit immediately by a burnt plastic or asphalt mixed with some flowers right after. Also some kind of tea and banana. The palate is quite dry, a bit light in mouth feel but quite complex. I get some berries and banana, which are overtaken by herbs and spices towards a finish. Very nice, thanks Artur for sharing a sample.

A very nice, complex and well balanced Fijian rum. Great nose with notes of fruits, glue, varnish, burned plastic, wood,... The palate is dry with smoky fruits and wood. The alcohol is integrated very well. Recommended.

My RumRatings review from 5 years ago: The rum is an absolute blast right after pouring into the glass. Intense ester notes come unfiltered to the nose. In a blind tasting, I would have immediately guessed a Jamaica rum. The rum needs at least 30 minutes to breathe to calm down. Lots of glue, fermented tropical fruit, and a clear medicinal note. On the palate, the rum is very direct and the alcohol has a certain sharpness. A mild sweetness comes with a good portion of esters. Fruity notes are rather scarce. It remains medicinal. There's more cask influence than expected. Tannins are clearly noticeable and the wood is very present on the finish. A good mix of glue and bitter substances lingers long in the mouth. The rum stays very present for a long time. I really enjoy the rum because it's direct and strong. Actually, the rum might have spent a bit too long in the cask, as the bitter substances are very present. Compared to that, the RA Fiji does it a bit better. Still, an absolutely great rum.

Nose: spicy aromas of tar and smoke dominate, but also fruit like banana. Also chocolate. Palate: All aromas from the nose are also found on the palate, although the fruits are more discreet. Finish: Notes of chocolate and a slight honey sweetness. Conclusion: Excellent rum, full-bodied, round and with plenty of character.
