Nine years old but tasting a decade past that — dark, dense and more Jamaican than St. Lucia, with glue, herbs and overripe tropical fruit up front. Honey and vanilla soften the nose; the palate turns spicy and woody with pepper, anise and dark chocolate. Several tasters clocked banana, pineapple and a menthol edge. Bottled at 55%, the alcohol sits well integrated.

wow!🤤🇱🇨 On the nose very different from the Vendome 6y. Honey, cherry, caramel candy, cocoa, pastry, followed by mandarin, mango and many wood and roast notes, after some waiting a really menthol note comes in. Very intense and exciting! Taste then directly vanilla, cocoa nibs, menthol, mint and banana with blackberry, plus a fine citrus acidity with pineapple and caramel and cocoa. On the finish then dark chocolate, subtle menthol, allspice, green pepper and vanilla, as well as unripe pineapple with a slight bitterness reminiscent of grapefruit peel. Damn good!

Nose clearly less fruity than the 6y. Here on the nose more herbal spice, honey and vanilla, slight floral sweetness... great. Taste-wise also here compromises compared to the nose, fruit almost gone, more dry woodiness, some vanilla and cinnamon. Nose really top but taste-wise it can't keep up.

Nice color in the glass! Nose: initially sharp, red fruits, spice. Overall restrained, light. Palate: peppery, nicely balanced between fruit, cask and spice. Unfortunately the pepper note covers a lot. Finish: long and spicy, lots of cask and again sour cherries. I like it, but no more than that.

Initially wood and glue on the nose, with a honey and fruit note. A very slight hint of citrus fruit. Then herbs, roasted, spicy and wood on the palate, very dark notes with some fruit. Dark chocolate.

I have been looking for the three Haromex bottlings for a long time, I like St Lucia and the reviews make me very curious. I have now tasted them and have to conclude: delicious, but there are now much better bottlings on the market in the Chairman's Reserve Masters Selection range.

The second Haromex bottling this evening. Again a wide spectrum of mainly tropical fruits. Alongside again wood, herbs and spices, but not as pronounced as with the Vendome. On the finish more and more darker aromas like chocolate and allspice.

It's been a great year, probably one if the craziest one's ever 🥰 Met many new run friends both online and in person, travelled a lot Germany, Belgium, France and Sweden. Next year should be a bit more tranquil I hope, because I have a ton of samples 🙃 Nose Intense, light fruits, cinnamon, wood, light roasted, light orange, light chocolate, faint coffee, light peach. Palate Oily, wood, light roasted, cinnamon, light cherry, light anise, light chocolate, faint caramel. Finish long, wood, cinnamon, light medicinal, light cherry, faint coffee, light anise. Empty glass light coffee, pineapple, light medicinal, chocolate, clove, light nougat.

Yes, 8.5 was also my first impression. Very woody (oak) on the nose, vanilla can also be detected. On the palate then even more complex, besides wood and oak there is also pepper and vanilla to experience :)

A beautiful floral and fruity-spicy nose with a pleasant honey sweetness. Sweet and sour currant with pineapple mellowed with banana and cherry. Adds a dry vanilla wood note. Continues nicely on the palate. Full-bodied and really tasty. Slightly bitter yet also fruity and spicy. Perhaps sour cherry with blackberry. Vanilla with some tart nutmeg impact. Pleasantly woody.Also in the finish remains a nice intense spicy and somehow fruity green impression.Great drop!

Great JonDore! Less interesting and intense on the nose, but then it really kicks on the palate. Great value for money, alcohol well integrated. Edges and corners. The finish could be a bit longer, but you can't complain :-)

Wow! Bananas, pineapple, crème brûlée, lots of different herbs and a ton of glue can be detected on the nose. Instead of a relation to the Bellevues, it’s more related to Jamaica. This rum sets itself apart from the other two vintages 1999 and 2002. No sugarcane and hardly any honey detectable. After about an hour of resting, a few similarities to the ’99 batch can be found. On the palate then lots of herbs, anise and very lightly the banana-pineapple combo from the nose. On the palate this rum seems much more mature than its 9 years. Blind, I would probably have rated it as the oldest candidate in the cross-tasting, or on par with the Blackadder 1999. Additionally, on the palate to the Jamaican association from the nose, there’s a little Rockley shimmer. The dry finish shows again the whole variety from nose and palate: herbs, fruits, glue, anise and even some medicine can be found here. Again, a really great rum. 88 points

Complex aroma, reminiscent of Jamaican rums. Sweet at the start, then voluminous and dense. Medium-long finish of overripe tropical fruits that lingers longer than expected on the tongue. Seems significantly older and riper than it is. The price back then was a P/L hit.
