Sip this one neat and give it time in the glass — several tasters say it opens up after resting. You get floral and grassy agricole notes, a little orange, vanilla and roasted spice, with tobacco and leather underneath. Not too sweet, nicely rounded. The recurring gripe: the finish runs thin and short, and a few wish it hit harder.

Excellent nose - dark, toasty and intense. Great roastiness and pleasant sweetness on the palate. A bit wild on the palate. Only the finish is unfortunately too thin.

To the point: liquid sharp herbal candy. More detailed: herbs, green notes and eucalyptus, unpleasant sharp note, some sweetness at the end (probably from the cask). The whole thing is not very complex, just herbal and sharp.

Verkostet zusammen mit paar anderen Agricoles aus Martinique. Alle fast eine Stunde im Glas atmen lassen. An der Nase sehr angenehm, pflanzlich und floral, mit etwas Orange. Am Gaumen überwiegen Gras und Gewürze, Tabel, Leder, leider aber etwas dünn. Annsich ein S ehr angenehner Agricole. Aber auch hier könnten paar Prozente mehr paar Punkte mehr einbringen.

Decent rhum

Floral and fruity dominate with a fine wood in the background structuring everything. Apple, stone fruits (plum/prune) with some spices (nutmeg and cinnamon) and hazelnut give a good balance between the gourmand side and freshness (white flowers/cherry tree with a subtle note of menthol that lasts on the length). No aggressiveness from the alcohol. A very glug-glug rum that makes you want to come back and gives a lot of pleasure.

The nose is on extravagant tropical fruits that enhance a vanilla-caramelized background! In the background, you find spices and especially peppery notes. It's soft but attractive on the cherry. On the palate, it's round, elegant, light, fine, and very balanced. The fruits (cherry-apple-pear) lead the dance and notes of mocha and pepper accompany them. The finish is soft, subtle, and long on spices with a hint of menthol. Some will say it's a bit flat, lacking power!? Yes, that's true, but it's good and indulgent.
