Despite the age they have mastered a very smooth complex rum. I just had another go at this rum today and I'm really happy to have a bottle and backup bottle of this last of its kind. Fruity, sweet and spice nose and a palate that's both complex and extremely smooth. The palate is different from the nose and surprisingly good. Spices mix with, mint, tropical fruits and woodiness with a hint of marzipan. This is the last bottling before the distiller closed their doors. Distilled in 1972 and bottled in 2019 makes this rum 47 years old and a worthy one to close down on 😊

For a 1972 rum, it's flat, it has no depth. It flows in the mouth like water. The flavors are not very pronounced.

Very good rum, but too reduced. Compared with the 2014 edition from RhumHouse, which is 47% and 54%, the reduction shows the loss of aroma and power of this exceptional rum.
