I little too much Sherry feeling in my opinion. The nose have scents of toffee, sherry and chocolate. At the palate it’s woody and dry with flavors of oak, toffee, sherry and chocolate. The finish is medium long.

This is the most recent special edition from Angostura. Unfortunately they have changed the bottle design, a bit sad because I really liked the cubic bottle of the 2 first ones. The nose is typical Angostura with raisin, molasses and sherry. The palate follows with toasted toffee, nuts and prunes. Later there is vanilla and oak. The day after the vanilla and oak are very clear in the glass. The finish is medium long with roasted oak and raisin.

I had this rum in a blind tasting, it smelled very alcoholic and flat, slight vanilla and sweetness. On the palate it definitely didn't get better, very flat and alcoholic. I would never have guessed Trinidad. Not recommended for the high price.

Beautiful matte on the bottle under 100€. You can feel the alcohol, but very drinkable. I recommend it even to beginner rum lovers to discover new flavors. The mint from TDL is an unmistakable taste that you will never get tired of.

Very nice rum I have to say! It appears as if TDL profile is the one I really connect with! The sweetness seems to be countered well with the roasted notes I always seem to find in the TDL rums. Always a winning combo of roasted and sweet for me Nose - toasted oak, roasted coffee, roasted coca beans or fragrant dark chocolate, runny/syrupy caramel, balanced, mild, approachable and next to no alcohol burn or prickle Taste - dried fruits, nice spices (baking spices), coffee, hint of leather, tobacco or sweet tobacco note, toasted oak & dark barrel char Finish - medium Another pleasant bottling and one that will definitely be on my to buy list BUT at £100 it’s not cheap - it’s about £20-£30 too expensive for what it is. Will wait to see if a generous sale shaves off a decent amount or grab one at auction The only I would consider paying £100 with no complaints would be if they re-released this as a 46% non chill filtered version THEN it would be worth the price tag However despite the 40% ABV and high price tag the quality of the liquid for me is a winner!

Blind tasting on 01.02.2024, 5th rum Nose: very, very restrained, reveals nothing Palate: weak, weaker, weakest; bland and very diluted Of the eight rums tasted, this is the worst and leaves no lasting impression at all. So insignificant that I even forgot to take a photo. Really, it's from Trinidad? The fact that I was completely wrong in my estimation doesn't make the rum any better.
