This rum is from one of the remaining old rum houses in Flensburg, Northern Germany. They have been in the business for a long time and continuesly makes a good bootle. This is a sharp rum that will need a drop of water or two in my mind. Powerful nose and a punch on the palate. This base rum originates from Rockley and was part of a major export from 1986. Primarily matured on continental soil, which is very obvious when tasting.

Man findet die typischen Marker des Rockley-Profils fast ausnahmslos, Honig, Früchte, Rauch, Vanille, Holz sind allesamt präsent - mir fehlt aber ein wenig die präsente Frische der vergorenen Früchte und des Honigs, die die absolute Spitzenklasse der West Indies Releases aus 1986 auszeichnet. Es bleibt dennoch ein grossartiges Release auf qualitativ eindrucksvollem Niveau.
