On the nose, it's first very woody and spicy. I smell stewed fruits, almost a Calvados scent. On the palate, still wood, tannins, pepper. Fruit at the end of the palate. The alcohol is very present. The sugar too. On aeration, the mouth is even drier, almost astringent. Despite everything, it's very pleasant. Nice discovery. Edit: very present alcohol. If the alcohol were better integrated, it would be an excellent rum. Edit2: damn sherry finish. It's decided. I'm stopping rums that have stayed in contact with grapes :)

Great Savanna tasting with Artur. An alcoholic and fruity nose with a slight acetone note, yellow fruits and dry herbs. The entry on the palate is rough and lacks harmony. Lots of yellow fruits afterwards and a fermented side. The finish is moderately long and the overripe apple and caramel linger for a long time.

I love the rare releases from Rum Nation because they usually never disappoint. This one is no exception and you get a lot for your money. The nose is fruity and woody with vanilla, chocolate and nuts. If you leave the empty glass for a couple of hours and then nose it you'll be in chocolate heaven. The palate is lightly sweet and dry, complex and balanced with spices and dried fruit with chocolate and a hint of tobacco trailing. The finish is medium long and warm with wood, chocolate and raisin.

7th day in the Christmas calendar. Blind! Complex and somehow tasty. Totally reminded me of a Guyana with Oloroso or Armagnac finish. Spicy and also fruity, complex nose. Quite a bit of sulfur. Dark fruits like blackberry, cherry, dried plum and dried apricot. Overall muted, leather and vanilla, maybe some chestnut. Yes, and brandy or sherry. On the palate woody-bitter, then a bit fruity. Sour cherry, blackberry, cassis and a hint of lime, a bit of licorice at the back, salty and roasted. Pretty good!
