18.11.2005 at this wonderful hotel at the waterfront in Shanghai. Notes. Wonder where the bottle came from. Beautiful dark colour. Woody with herbs and spices. Nice smoky touch. Oily and warm palate and overall good balance.

Nice Rockley profile even if it is 16yo. Unfortunately just 46%, so the taste is little bit weak

Nose: scotch tape, glue, synthetic, tar, rubber, plastic, eucalyptus, allspice. Some delicate yellow fruits. Palate: Smooth, fruity, spicy. Some pears, peaches, spices, combined with synthetic, plastic, tar, rubber. But this eucalyptus note is great. Aftertaste: long. really lot of tar, rubber, glue, some spices, ginger and of course – eucalyptus. Conclusion: I would never have thought about Barbados, if I have blind taste. Very untipical.

You can feel the typical Rockley 86 profile unfortunately veiled in slightly excessive sweetness in the finish. Also a pity the dilution, but still the expression is complex and intense. Lots of honey in taste and aroma and hints of technicality.

Read full review →It definitely improves as you get more acquainted with it. It isn't quite as raw and heavy as the Rum Swedes Barbados 2000 - the Sherry finish has smoothed those notes a little but without totally masking them. I find this Rockley Still slightly better. And the score reflects this.
