Aroma visualization from community tastings
A1710 Tricentenaire 2016
Orange peel and vanilla lead here, with cinnamon, mango and a roasted-wood edge over a light floral note several tasters picked up. It's a column-still Martinique agricole that drinks gentle for its blend of older rums. Most find it pleasant and fruity but a touch short and less complex than they'd hoped from this house — a quiet elegance rather than fireworks.

Elegant, fruity agricole that plays it quiet Fruity, spiced and easy-drinking, with orange, vanilla and roasted oak. Well made, but several felt it lacked the complexity and depth they expected from this distillery.

Nice tasting yesterday of rums I rarely meet in tastings. This one is lovely and fruity with spices and roasted wood to it. There is a light floral note that I like a lot. Price to quality is OK.

Appreciating the house's white rums enormously, I thought I'd discovered a "pearl" when I spent €250 on an aged rum! What a disappointment, it's not particularly flawed, but at this price, or even two or three times less, there's better (Depaz 2002 at €70).

Review by JB
Lightweight and very pleasant, although I expected more.
