One French taster called it a nice surprise, expecting little and finding vanilla, wood and fruit. Light on its feet at 43%, with a short, fresh finish. The 5yo Dillon VSOP Reserve du Comte Arthur Dillon have been replaced by a bottle named just VSOP in their new range. It’s maybe the same Rhum, but it’s not confirmed. The one tasted by me is the old one.

Number 24 of the Advent calendar from La Route des Rhums. A solid Agricole. Spicy nose, vanilla stands out, also some barrel. On the palate then alongside the wood/barrel again plenty of vanilla, but also some coconut.

La bonne surprise, Je n’en attendais pas grand chose mais honnêtement c’est vraiment sympa. On a de la vanille et du bois, mais également quelques fruits, peut être de l’ananas, et un petit fumé en complément: Cool.

Tasted blind with the Avent 2024: If it is indeed the basic 5 years I tasted. Nice, light floral nothing more Fresh and floral nose, identical palate, seems light in alcohol, well integrated. The length is short and fresh. It reminded me a bit of a Marsolle cherrywood or a Damoiseau subprime 2008 less fruity.
