Old and young wood on the nose, yellow fruit (quince and apple) and freshness to counterbalance the dark wood. Nice entry on the palate, with yellow fruit and the same mix of old and young wood. The finish is moderately long, a little diluted. Some of the wood and fruit linger for a long time. A very drinkable rum, quite simple but well-made and balanced.

#7279 11.09.2026 Relaxing after a good week and also preparing for tomorrows 20 km speedhike (at least for me) in Middelfart. Listening to some cool Goa Trance on Spotify while packing and readying my gear. Really nice Uitvlugt that also had a nice price tag at release. Well balanced profile with roasted wood, pencil shavings, fruit, marzipan, spice, diesel, light minerals, herbs and a dry palate.

My nose hardly notices any alcohol and it is much more subtle than the other candidates, but nevertheless recognizable as a typical PM, with similar aromas to the others. On the palate, you also notice that it is the candidate with the lowest percentages, but it doesn't seem watered down. There is a slight loss of body due to the lower percentages, but it makes up for this well with a broader aroma spectrum. It is also definitely the driest PM in this comparison. The finish has a similar creaminess to the TRC PM 1997 with a slight bitterness, which I like very much. A top rum here too. 87 points
