Brett💥🤯 Green apple, cookie dough, honey, pineapple, lots of esters and nail polish on the nose. Lemon zest, ginger cookies, pineapple jam, and butter cookies with green granny smith on the palate.. Very very awesome, absolutely on par with CDI SBS, finding a winner here really depends on the mood of the day. This one definitely has the most glue and esters in comparison.. which is almost too much for me in the finish!😅 Hard to make a decision here!🙈😄

For me the spearhead of the 2005 New Yarmouths... closely followed by the Cave Guildive bottling. Both are mega fun. Anyone who grabbed this at release years ago is to be envied. Super nice fruit-ester notes with well-integrated alcohol.

One of the best Jamaica NY for me !!! My reference in the 2005 range. Grenade . Incredibly fruity and funky ... an almost divine Nectar !!! Brutally good in Mai Tai ... Too bad that there are only a few bottles left.

SBS NY 2005: The nose promises a lot and the palate delivers. A funky Jamaica, with a little smoke. The only thing that bothers me is the not quite perfectly integrated alcohol. But that's mexing on a very high level, a great bottling! FRC Hampden 2007: This excellent rum doesn't need many words! A continental matured Hampden that was the benchmark for me in its category lamge.

Oh yes, a grenade among the New Yarmouth grenades. I already liked the 94 and 2009 ones more than very much, this is the one that stands above all, no matter the vintage. I hardly believe any other New Yarmouth bottling from any year can hold a candle to this one. THANK YOU THANK YOU SaibotZtar for not only sending me a sample but also a bottle from you :-)))

Blind I thought this rum was a Hampden. Nose with tons of fruit, ester and glue - extreme stuff! The palate is very astringent at first. But then follows an intense fruity sweetness. Towards the finish there is a turn towards dry and olives. An excellent New Yarmouth rum with a wide, intense aromatic spectrum.

What a lovely and powerful Jamaican. It hits you from opening and pouring it into the glass. Fruity and funky especially if you leave it to rest for 15-20 minutes. Funky, intense and balanced with wood, nuts and spices. Would have loved one of these on my shelves.

9:On the nose, medicinal with esters and glue, nail polish, funky, overripe tropical fruits like pineapple, mango, green apple, citrus with lemon, wood with anise, allspice, vegetal molasses with briny olive, floral, bump into our nosetrils. On aeration, cherry, banana arise, fermented dairy hints, molasses is herbaceous, grassy with hay, the wood brings nuts, marzipan, vanilla, ginger, slightly smoky. 9:On the palate, the attack is intense, slightly imbalanced with medicinal notes like esters, solvents, glue, a bit alcoholic, funky, fruity with tropical fruits like banana and pineapple, mango, lemon, fermented, buttery, molasses is vegetal with briny olive, herbaceous, floral, grassy, slightly bitter, and the wood is spicy, peppery, meaty, smoky, brings pastry, caramelized notes.Resting shows totally different aspect of this rum, balanced, round, delicious, complex. 8,9:The finish is long, dry&tannic, medicinal, funky, fresh with grassy molasses, vegetal olive, fruity with fermented tropical fruits like banana and pineapple, guava hints, citrus fruits, marmalade like, dairy hints, buttery, then wood is spicy with ginger, nutty, meaty, smoky, notes are caramelized, some chocolate, confectionery hints are obvious..

Well, this New Yarmouth definitely has the strongest Janaika funk. Lots of esters, but also glue and nail polish are recognizable here. Tropical fruits can only be perceived lightly and subtly instead.

The famous champion of the New Yarmouth 2005, as delicious as it is hard to get. The nose is exquisite, a perfect blend of medicinal ester aromas, glue and nail polish with fruits, both exotic (mango, pineapple, banana), citrus (lemon) and red (cherry). This aromatic bouquet is accompanied by woody, spicy and slightly pastry-like touches (especially honey) that make the difference. Absolutely divine. The wonder continues on the palate, with a bouquet of flavors as powerful as they are indulgent: pineapple, banana, mango and lemon blend like in a fruit tart, both pastry and buttery, enhanced with warm spices and ultra-fine woodiness. The funk is super indulgent, the esters, varnish, glue and solvents give body and breadth in the mouth. The alcohol is perfectly integrated, it's a masterstroke. The finish is very long, evolving and highly aromatic. Although it retains some fruitiness, it is mainly drier, more tannic, woody and spicy, but reveals a herbal freshness and unexpected olive notes that take this rum to another dimension. We can say it now, no other New Yarmouth 2005 rivals it, it's an aromatic monster that awakens the taste buds and the pleasure of tasting. A liquid jewel that must be tried at least once by every rum lover.

Blind tasting: my nose is hit by an ester blast that can only come from Hampden: sour apple, pineapple, and overripe banana. The ester blast is so powerful that it definitely should be over HLCF, but not as strong as I know from DOK. Therefore, my nose guesses <>H, HGML, or C<>H. On the palate, I find a very ripe and complex rum with a great sweetness and the fruits from the nose. The palate also confirms a high ester content; I would even say it must be HGML or C<>H. Age-wise, I would guess 16-18 years and an alcohol content just over 60%. The finish is very long and pleasantly becoming bitter. From the perceived key data, it is most likely a Hampden rum from 2001, which, however, does not match my higher ester perception, but seems the most probable. Definitely a great rum, I will probably get a bottle if it is still available. 90 points. Addendum: NY also briefly crossed my mind, but only because I don't know a Hampden rum with the estimated ester concentration and age. Otherwise, this NY rum is very, very Hampden-like. Also, the rum is extremely ripe for its age and the alcohol is excellently integrated. Chapeau Joshua!
