New Yarmouth S.B.S Jamaica 2005

Glue, green apple and pineapple hit before you even sip — this New Yarmouth 2005 is loaded with ester and nail-polish funk. On the palate several tasters find ripe fruit, honey and biscuit dough, with a long finish that turns pleasantly bitter. Many rate it their favorite NY 2005, though at 67.2% the heat isn't always fully tucked away.

Intense, funky, ester-packed Jamaican cask strength One of the most-loved New Yarmouth 2005s here — huge ester, fruit and glue, powerful yet balanced. A few note the alcohol isn't perfectly integrated and one calls it slightly young.

Chapeau Joshua!

Brett💥🤯green apple, cookie dough, honey, pineapple, lots of ester and nail polish on the nose. Lemon zest, ginger cookies, pineapple jam and butter cookies with green granny Smith in the taste..very very cool, absolutely on par with CDI SBS, to find a winner here is really day form dependent. this one has in any case the most glue and ester in comparison... which is almost too crass for me in the finish!😅hard to make a decision here!🙈

What a lovely and powerful Jamaican. It hits you from opening and pouring it into the glass. Fruity and funky especially if you leave it to rest for 15-20 minutes. Funky, intense and balanced with wood, nuts and spices. Would have loved one of these on my shelves.

One of the best Jamaica NY for me !!! My reference in the 2005 range. Grenade . Incredibly fruity and funky ... an almost divine Nectar !!! Brutally good in Mai Tai ... Too bad that there are only a few bottles left.

Brutal NY, esters & fruit, powerful & silky. Still well balanced in its raw power.

Avg Rating 8.7/10 96 Rums

New Yarmouth is Jamaican rum's best-kept secret. There are almost no photos of it, it makes Wray & Nephew White, the island's best-selling rum, and it is one of only three distilleries that can reach the highest esters. Collectors only really discovered it through aged 1994 vintages, which have become some of the most surprising rums on RumX.
