09.11.2019 Had a nice evening with friends and bottles wrapped in tinfoil ☺️ Notes. Dark in colour. Nose: wood, roasted, light rubber, tar, caramel, cherry. Palate: oily, wood, roasted, leather, light rubber, tar, orange. Finish: long, warm, wood, light smoke, orange, light tar and rubber.

Solid representative of the 1998 Caroni vintage. The alcohol is a little too present; the aromas of the HTR profile come through, with a rich caramel sweetness dominating. Pleasant to drink, but not in the top class in direct comparison with the 1998 Caronis from continental maturation.

Tasted with the reduced Franconian tasting including member Jakob. This 98er Caroni is, from my memory compared to other 98ers, rather not quite at the forefront. The markers are nicely recognizable but the alcohol is not so well integrated.
