Wow! Surprise of the month. This looks like standard 46% Bristol. But it tastes strong, tasty with strong oak tail. ... Enmore - drive destilerka, nyni uz jen funkcni destilacni zarizeni. Patrne jedine drevene destilacni zarizeni na svete, ktere se tesi velke oblibe. Rumy Enmore totiz maji prichut popelu, kuze, tezkeho dreva, coz nadchne zejmena milovniky nakourenych whisky. A pokud tradicnim Guyanskym zpusobem prida vyrobce do rumu trochu melasy, mate v lahvi unikatni velmi vyrazny a tezky rum. Jeden z mych oblibenych.

27.04.2019 A relaxing evening with good samples and bottles and a few friends. Notes. Light in colour. Nose: wood, plum, balanced, herbs, raisin, anise. Palate: balanced, wood, roasted, raisin, anise, light licorice, medium dry. Finish: medium long, wood, licorice, dried fruit, leather.

A classic Versailles, with a successful Port finish that just fits well with the rum. Both in aroma and color the finish is noticeable, even though it’s only 2 years. In my opinion, the finish could even have had a bigger share of the aging. Dominant here are still the classic pencil shavings and wood, followed by allspice, nutmeg, and white pepper. More in the background now are forest berries and slightly sour currants, as if someone spilled a shot of Punica Tea and Fruit into the rum. This is especially noticeable when compared to a normal Versailles. On the palate, the finish brings a fine sweetness that is not too pronounced. However, the woody pencil notes and spice clearly dominate. I like it a lot and would buy a bottle anytime again if the price is right. The dilution doesn’t really bother here.

Although it is a 1984 vintage rum, it is “only” an 18-year-old Versailles. The aroma is weak, citrusy, with hints of pepper and juniper. After resting, notes of Versailles appear in the glass – I call it pencil shavings. The taste is much more intense than the aroma. It tastes completely different than I expected and there is really a lot of pepper in the taste. And really long-lasting. After initial dislike, I like it more and more.
