Chapeau to the two gentlemen blenders. An impressively good rum, the already outstanding ingredients create an extremely impressive interplay of aromas... everything that characterizes an outstanding navy blend is here in terms of taste. This bottling is simply a hell of a lot of fun!

What a board. New Yarmouth meets Hampden meets Guyana REV. New Yarmouth brings cookie dough, tangerine peel and pastry, Hampden brings the fat, oily butter and fruit esters and Guyana REV brings the backbone with intense dark spice flavors and wood roast aromas to round it all off. The finish is almost sesame caramel or baklava with pineapple and citrus marmalade. Grandiose bottling! A perfect navy rum! Edit: I would probably rate it at 8.1-8.4 blind but when you know what's in it and what it "only" cost, the rating is automatically massively adjusted 😅

RumX Advent Calendar, day 23. A beautiful nose of controlled esters and tropical fruits, pineapple, banana and citrus. Sweetness too. The palate is soft and delicious, with fruit but much less than on the nose. The wood is supportive and the ABV should be rather low. The finish is soft and rather long. A very fine rum, with character and sweetness, quite delicious even if the ABV is rather low.

An insanely 😎 good blend. Unbelievable how Guyana and Jamaica play together so harmoniously here... Fruity esters like Anna's mango, marzipan, banana, leather, heavy molasses, wood, caramel, just to name a few... This rum is in a class of its own, very very awesome!

Great blend with a nice combination of Jamaican chocolate sides (esters, fruit, pineapple, Hampden spice, NY cookies, almond) and Guyana. Even if - just for my taste, of course - the Guyana part should be a little more present. Complaining at a high level - a very strong blend in which the flavors complement each other perfectly.

It has finally landed in my glass. And I have to say, it's worth it. It is very complex and multi-faceted in terms of aromas. From the nose to the finish, there are always new nuances. It is pleasantly soft and yet very intense in the mouth. The blend of fruit, esters, spices and wood is very balanced and harmonizes perfectly. A first-class blend that was unfortunately only available in very limited quantities. All the more reason for me to thank the noble donor 🙇♂️

RumX Advent Calendar 2024 Day 23: Here we have a really brilliant blend consisting of Jamaica and Guyana. Ester on the nose, but also pineapple and herbs. On the palate it is very spicy, but pineapple and esters are still recognizable.

Day 23 of the RumX advent calendar: Only subtle esters are at work here, but this rum still has a very appealing aroma package at the start due to its intensive maturation. The combination of tropical fruitiness with the natural basic sweetness of burnt sugar and toasty oak together with a few spices is very convincing. Very tasty!

RX Calendar 24: On the nose first HD Ester, but after a few minutes also room for cake spices, baking dough, fresh herbs, barrel, dried fruits, orange zest. Really extremely varied and complex on the nose! On the palate roasted, coffee, tobacco, leather, but also fruity (grapefruit?). Great blend!

#5432 27.06.2025 Relaxing with a few samples while listening to some Armin van Buuren mixes. Nose Fresh, light wood, medium intense, fruity, ester, light orange, clove, light plum, faint caramel. Palate Fresh, medium intense, oily, naturally sweet, light marzipan, light citrus, ester, light licorice, medium spicy, light wood. Finish Long and warm, light wood, fruity, faint marzipan, light licorice, light spicy, oily, clove. Empty glass Light chocolate, vanilla, clove, light pineapple, light licorice.

Wow really cool rum from the advent calendar. Here is a blend from Jamaica and Guyana... fruity and ester on the nose and slightly spicy on the palate, but also fruity again like pineapple and citrus fruits.

Characteristic features of different distilleries are already noticeable on the nose. I think I can identify Long Pond and Hampden. I didn't think of Guyane - I had put my money on Panama because of the chocolate notes. Quite alcoholic on the palate with the same aromas plus cask. Nice long chocolaty finish.

Excellent blend of a Guyana & Jamaica rum. For me, the Guyana influences are clearly more present, which I like. This blend flies somewhat under the radar because unfortunately there are very few bottles.

🎁 Sample obtained thanks to RX points. 👃 Esters, multiple tropical fruits, light dried fruits, almond paste, delicious mandarin liqueur, caramelized fruit juices, sap, cooked vanilla, cooking spices, noble wood, wood glue, beeswax, a bit of rubber, light leather. Magnificent nose, complex, complete, funky and not lacking delicacy. Jamaican esters blend harmoniously with Guyanese roasting. 😋 More citrus and bitter than on the nose. Small limes combined with red peppers. Fruity freshness (pineapple and mango), candied orange citrus. The esters seem less lively than the nose suggested. Salty licorice, trace of coffee bean, wood present, sap still, wood care products. A palate totally in line with the nose. Excellent integration of the alcohol. ⛳ Long, warm, slightly bitter. More wood essence, the cask marks the finish. Menthol freshness, tropical fruits, combawa, chamomile sweet tea, slightly salty licorice, sap, dried fruits. 🏅 In the top 3 Navy Rums I have tasted so far. Almost at the same level as the unbeatable Velier Royal Navy. Very complex, lots of subtleties and aromatic variations from nose to finish, without the typical empyreumatic of Caroni.

First impression on the nose "Hello Jamaica" but we learned at the latest yesterday: let it stand first ;) Over time fruit citrus fruits? In the mouth then full-bodied, nice fruit and fine sweetness. Alcohol perfectly integrated. Very tasty! So second batch and no longer blind tasted, I think I recognize the components more clearly. I really like this blend exceptionally well.

RumX Calendar 2024 Day 23: Nose quite closed, dark, roasted notes, unripe light fruit. On the palate intense, wood spice, green banana, roasted. High ABV. Medium-long finish, dark, chocolate, coconut, slightly bitter. Older Worthy Park? But clearly more complex, very exciting and tasty! Only the nose could be more intense.

Some esters in the nose, heavy complex profile, a lot of wood, a bit astringent in the finish. For me not really sweetness in the finish, but wood and bitterness (not in a bad way). I’m also in Jamaica somewhere but I’m really lost what would fit the bill here. Old Clarendon usually has more mint to it in my mind… The Appleton hearts have that Jamaica/Guyana crossover feel to it, but I don’t remember the ester part in it so pronounced. The older Hampdens and Long Ponds that I’ve tasted are usually fruitier. Maybe a blend indeed? Don’t think I’ve ever had it in the glass. Really curious about the outcome!

Nice blend from Jamaica (New Yarmouth and Hampden) and Guyana. Considering today's price but unfortunately only 60 bottles. Dreamy. The aromas harmonize wonderfully, with Guyana somewhat dominating.

That's really difficult to guess. The nose and the finish point towards and old rum from Guadalupe, all or partially molasses based, with agrumes, leather, old wood. All of these will appear again in the finish When in comes to the palate, this is another rum, with a lot of esters and tropical fruit. Impossible to say what this is, indeed this is a great rum

Wow. What a punch! A nose balanced between esters, pineapple, leather and wood. A spicy mouthfeel at first then very rich, creamy, on a salty mango, and a very indulgent marzipan side. Very long finish, between fruits and a woodiness that comes back nicely. Sublime, soft, complex, balanced, evolving. I love it!

Day 23 RumX Advent Calendar Wow, that's delicious!!! Lots of esters and really nice barrel notes on the nose. The fruits are slightly tropical for me with a bit of sweet red apple and vanilla and tangerine. No waste at all on the palate. Nice spices (baked apple/wintery). Really great fruity finish.

Calendar 2024 Day 23: A difficult box, as so much is mixed together. Dark but also varnish and a certain funk. Could be a low ester Jamaica rum, but the herbs are irritating. Possibly with a strong finish. But probably a blend. I can't define it more precisely. In any case, lots of tropical storage, around 60% and lots of wood. Very tasty. Edit: an excellent blend. Very nice drop. Jamaica and Guyana are a perfect match. I'm really looking forward to tasting the rum. Great cinema. Top.

Blind tasting Advent calendar 2024: the nose says Jamaica. Few ester notes but still recognizable. On the palate already some sharpness to taste. Also chocolate and a bit cherry-like, it still has something. Not bad.

Rum-X Advent calendar Oliver Gerhart 2024 Day 23 A very interesting combination of rum from Jamaica and Guyana. The combination creates a very interesting piece, which on the nose reminds more of Guyana, while on the palate the tones from Jamaica are more pronounced.

RumX Advent Calendar 2024 Day 23: Great, inviting nose with dark but also fruity notes. Ester, cassis and also darker roasted aromas come together here. Just like that, only more intense, it continues on the palate. With some dried fruits and marmalade it finishes medium-long. It's worth sniffing the empty glass. A very nice rum with a profile I don't know like this. I would guess a high-quality blend.
