Dugas La Maison du Rhum #3 2012
Most people land on "pleasant but not exciting" here — a caramel-and-coconut Saint Lucia pot still that's easy to sip without asking much of you. Expect toffee, roasted almonds, dried apricot and a touch of toasted oak. Several note it's fairly restrained on sugar, so more flavour comes through. The 45% shows more heat than the number suggests, and a couple of tasters found it a bit thin on the finish.

Compared to the Plantation Extreme with a bit more Alcohol this is mild and tempered, but very similar. Taste wise it's more muted, but I do not have to manage any alcohol burn. Also the cask, spice and roasted fruit is quite present and nice. A sipper for easy days.

Ikke meget eftersmag. Ikke nok smag til at pakke alkoholen ind.

This is a very lovely daily sipper. BTW thi is my first St. Lucia. It’s not my favorite but it’s OK. Nose: Coconut, dried prunes, dried apricot, peaches (first impression was Icetea(peaches)when i openend the sample) paired with roated almonds, dark chocolate and sweet toffee. Mouth: Very balanced dry and delicious. Here you’ll find the same tastes but a bit more sweeter. I found some notes of mocha and a clear toated barrel too. The alcohol is very present for 45% only. Finish: Medium long: dry and fruity. You’ll find the roasted almonds, dried prunes, dried apricot and caramel again. With a nice taste of the toasted barrel.

Nice. A lot of caramel, or actually a but spicy caramel.

Decent rum. This specific release from LMDR have minimum “dosage”. Less stupid sweetness - more flavour. Simple.
