15.12.2025 Palate cleanup after day 15 of my Christmas Calendar. Still find this a pretty good rum. --------- Considering the price, this rum should be a lot better and a poor choice in quality to price when looking at the Facundo lineup. The nose is light and fruity with vanilla and caramel and a hint of cognac. The palate is complex and dry, yet velvety with fruit and spices. In the back i get chocolate, cookies and cognac. On too of that a good shot of oak. The finish is medium long with smoky oak and raisins and a hint of marzipan.

Wow, finally a decent Bacardi. It's still relatively sweet, but no problem. Otherwise, we have dark chocolate, cocoa, caramel, and vanilla here. A few cookies are also noticeable.

8,1:On the nose, the first impression we get is slightly restrained with dried fruits, roasted wood notes with caramel, cocoa, nuts, spices like nutmeg, pure oak, Cognac bias and slightly metallic patina. On aeration, citrus fruits arise, tannins and stronger roastedness with leather, smokiness, candied molasses, spicy vanilla and a hint of honey. 8,7:On the palate, the attack is, comparing to the nose, the opposite, velvety, delicious with variety of charred oak notes with cookie, biscuits, slightly smoky, sweet, syrupy, fruity with dried apricots, raisins, melon, yellow fruits, slightly metallic, dry from Cognac finish.With oxidation, vanilla is rounding dryness, as do marzipan and dark chocolate. 8,4:The finish is medium long, dry and tannic, with Cognac notes like grapes, raisins, dried apricots, the wood is roasted with nuts, dark chocolate, marzipan, confectionery, leather and slightly smoky, spicy with vanilla..
