Poured neat is the only way to meet this one: at 69.2% the nose fills the room before you sip, all pineapple, glue and banana with young oak underneath. Tasters call it a "bombe esterisée" — cinnamon-cookie fruit, brown sugar, a touch of olive and leather on a long finish. The ABV integrates well, though a couple found it a bit one-dimensional.

Enjoying a RumX Chairman's reserve while writing about the three samples I cracked open earlier today. A very nice Hampden and the nose arrives as soon as you open the bottme/sample. Fruity with light wood and spices. Well balanced in the ABV. Thr empty glass is wonderful with nice and strong flavours.

89 points. Solvents, tropical fruit, funk, pastries, wood and brown sugar. A little olive in the finish. Extremely round. Very nice but certainly not worth today’s price of admission.

Dieser <>H ist schon ein Brett… die Nase ist betörend. Das Aroma füllt den Raum sofort aus. Man kann sich dem gar nicht entziehen. Der Gaumen ist wild und funky, und man spürt den ABV anfangs schon deutlich. Er lässt sich aber schnell bändigen. Dann erscheinen auch sehr deutlich die Frucht- und Esternoten, gefolgt von jungem Holz. Diese Holznote setzt sich auch deutlich im Abgang fort. Erstklassige Abfüllung

Verdict: a superb bottling. It's very complex, with the perfect balance of tropical aging and the hogj-ester distillate. It gives you esters, fruit, sweet, and wood/roasted in an almost similar amount. Simply adorable. Nose: very well integrated nose. Quite some wood, roasted, custard, banana. Pineapple, banana, olive, varnish, baking goods, molasses and even raisin, leather, tobacco. Palate: incredible. You hardly notice the ABV. Very roasted, woody, with baking spice, cinnamon. A bit of liquorice even, before banana, almond and the esters kick in. Olive on brine, pickled lemon, tobacco, leather. Finish: so good, long and powerful. It's a prolonged experience of the palate.

good. Typical hampden, intuitive pineapple flavor, but also means homogeneity. It has a good length of finish, but a little bit less complicated. solvents, tropical fruits (with their sour) and baked pastries are overwhelming, cover the rest. And alcohol doesn't integrate very well, so masks some other delightful elements under the interference of alcohol. Regardless of ester content, this lack of flavor is really unacceptable. In addition, the price is seriously off the ground. too expensive, not worth for me.

Ohhh… sehr lecker, von den vier auf dem Foto abgebildeten Samples gefällt mir dieser hier am besten. Liegt vielleicht auch daran, dass er am meisten Power hat und die anderen drei damit „überstrahlt“. Die Klebstoffnoten sind hier am stärksten, dazu schöne Frucht , angenehme Süße, Noten von Gebäck. Davon hätte ich gerne mehr.

Der letzte an dem Hampden Verkostungsabend. Für mich der eigentliche Sieger, obwohl es doch recht unterschiedliche Marks waren. Bringt alles mit, was ich erwartet habe und hat dem heutigen Abend einen würdigen Abschluss gegeben.

Die Nase relativ sanft und schon rund. Auch gut ausgewogen nach Ananas. Am Gaumen wirklich eine schöne Erfahrung von zimtiger Keks Ananas Mit einer schöne süße.. Sehr süffig. Schöner Abgang. Ein toller Tropfen.

Quite a trip and restarting it tonight, some of the magic went away. Sadly this does not hold the excellent review I gave it the first time. Still a very good ,<>H that is so much better than the worst of this mark can do
