Sipped neat it's a powerhouse at 52%, but the real character is savory and green: fresh sugarcane, olives, a salty edge and light smoke, with citrus and a licorice-anise note that not everyone loves. One taster called it herbal "more than fruity," pushing you out of the classic agricole comfort zone. Several find it makes a great daiquiri if the intensity is much on its own.

I'm not a fan of old Savanna rums. But I love their whites. And this one is no exception! The freshness, citrus and esters go amazingly well with the fruit. Super pleasant.

Fruit,partly Clairin and tobacco.fruit, fruit schnapps, spicy, tobacco. Tobacco, smoky.In the cocktail I can imagine the Bianco well, to drink neat it is not suitable so well.

Great rum but I am not to keen on the (or any) licorice note. Quite a powerhouse on its own with 52% but then Savanna offers also the versions straight of the still. I can imagine this will do well in a daiquiri.

Beautiful pure juice more herbal than fruity with this smoky and salty side that takes us out of our "classic agricole" comfort zone.

Here I must contradict the previous reviews. It is not a rum for every day, but still an interesting thing and much more pleasant to drink than eg the Lord.

❌️ Yo boozehounds, Savanna - Créol 52 - 🇷🇪 - 52% Also a big favorite during my years on the intense island. My palate being formed on agricole, this pure juice comforted me every time I was tired of traditional rum, which is more common. This pure juice rum is fermented for 2 days and then distilled in a copper column. Despite the similarities in production with the Antilles agricoles, it has a totally different profile due to Reunion's terroir. You could almost call it the little sister of HERR 57 because some flavors are found (not with the same intensity, of course). Of course, we have the fresh cane found in pure juices with notes of olives, matcha tea, and artichokes and a very present vegetal side. The finish is fattier and more indulgent. A great success with an atypical profile. Cheers

Read full review ›Savanna Créol 52 is a small explosion of flavors governed by a certain balance. The sugar cane leads the tasting, but is immediately joined by fruity notes. The strength is felt, as it should be, but does not ruin the balance. The sip is full, aromatic, and very expressive.
