Wood & Co Diamond Wood‘s 100 Old Navy Rum
Most people land in a similar place here: a classic dark Demerara profile — burnt sugar, licorice, molasses, a hit of coffee — that clearly tastes sweetened beyond the distillate. One taster sums it up as standard table Demerara, just the profile he loves. At 57% it's young and powerful, punching through almost any mixer, though some find the licorice and molasses lay it on thick.
- Dark Demerara character
- Cuts through mixers
- Burnt sugar depth

How does Wood & Co Diamond Wood‘s 100 Old Navy Rum taste?
Aggregated from 12 community reviews.
Strong, sweetened dark Demerara mixer Liked for its old-school dark Demerara character and strength. Several note it reads sweetened, and a couple find the licorice and molasses overdone — but a strong everyday pour for the style.

Review by Jakob

This is a very young and powerful rum. It tastes through virtually any mixer! The proof is not 100 but 114 but maybe that has some history to it. Add a few drops of water and more flavours will be released.

Oha, erstaunlich gut! Schönes Demerara-Profil mit guter Komplexität. Mir etwas zu viel Lakritz und Melasse. Aber für so einen Standard richtig gut!
Review by N’ours
Heavy, torrified rum. Full-bodied, with wood, burnt sugar and powerful spices.

I know this is standard "table demerara rum", but this is the profile I love.

Read full review →Enjoyable stuff at a reasonable price. However go easy as it is strong stuff! I personally would buy this over Lambs or Skipper. Definitely worth having a bottle kicking around and I would imagine this would go well in tiki cocktails such as a Zombie.
