Roasted, chocolatey and heavy on vanilla-toffee, this is a classic Spanish-style O&O bottled at a hefty 66.6%. Had two tastings this weekend and Très Hombres was the first one. This rum kicks just the right places and I needed a drop of water to release more flavours. The oak is only there in the background, but I like that on this powerful rum. Spices, chocolate and coffee are more in the center. Lovely rum and very rare i found out.

One of the best Dominican Republic rums of my life, I have to mention here. Has 66%, but that really suits it, I must say. As expected, chocolate dominates here, with vanilla, caramel, and a bit of honey.

My first high-proof O&O, but it comes without big surprises and leans heavily on the roasted and chocolatey side. You can smell the typical aromas of a Spanish rum, which also makes this rum a rounded and elegant experience. On the palate, roasted, spicy, and bittersweet. The finish brings a bit more fruit, otherwise nothing new. The nearly 65% ABV is definitely noticeable; in my opinion, a bit of water should be added.

Very drinkable and delicious 😋 Vanilla notes and oak on the nose, creamy on the palate, toffee. A few drops of water take away the alcoholic sharpness.

Alcohol needs a lot of time. Again the sweetness that masks a lot. But an outstanding vanilla note in the nose and on the palate. But that's about it. Like many wines from this area, it remains quite one-dimensional. But it's still a good representative of the Spanish style in my eyes.
