09.11.2025 Retasting this rum and it is still pretty good in my mind. --------- 22.04..2019 Enjoying some samples at home. Colour Medium dark in colour. Nose Light wood, light pineapple, honey, light anise, light caramel, fresh. Palate Round, light wood, pineapple, light mango, anise, light caramel, spice, faint vegetal, light floral. Finish Medium to long, fresh, light wood, mango, light caramel, anise, faint chocolate.

Basically a solid Hampden LROK. As Oliver has already analyzed, I also smell and sniff bacon. Which I've never had with Hampden, I don't know if it's my imagination. It's a little too sour for me, otherwise I would probably have given it a better rating.

Quite restrained, but pleasant nose. Crazy combination of smoky bacon and green apple. Nice spice and creaminess on the palate. Great Hampden!

Also a beautiful Hampden. The fresh ester is right on the nose. It then continues on the palate and has a lovely fruity taste. The alcohol is really well integrated, you can hardly taste it. Thanks SaibotZtar for the sample.

Fried bacon, green apple, olive brine, Haribo pineapple and brioche with marzipan in liquid? Something about the DOK? It's crazy but you have to be up for it!

The bottling has a pleasant, slightly creamy mouthfeel. Alcohol is very well integrated. Unfortunately a bit too much acidity for me. Fruity notes lean more towards apple and citrus fruits. Basically not a bad bottling, but LROK is not my preferred brand.

... Hampden, legendary Jamaican distillery that besides rum also produces alcohol for perfumes. In all rums from this distillery, you feel wild esters, after which your whole body soaks in the scent of yellow tropical fruits – mango, papaya, pineapple, peach. One of the rums you "must try before you die."
