Part of HSE's permanent range, this VO offers pastry and honeyed aromas on the nose, with notes of caramel cream that lend it a delicious richness. This sweetness is supported by dried and candied fruits, mild spices, and an unexpected freshness. On the palate, citrus and prunes are evident, along with more herbaceous and vegetal notes, all supported by more pronounced spices, mellow woodiness, and toasted notes. It is round, smooth, and controlled. The finish is dry and fairly long, giving pride of place to spices and roasted notes, followed by dried fruit and light floral notes. A very nice rum for only three years of aging. The quality/price ratio is very good.
