Absolutely awesome st Lucia vendome in pure form. Mega nice honey and tropical fruit note. Acacia honey, incense, candied ginger and dried mango chips and mirabelle plum jam. Quasi the ultimate sipping Vendome pot still st. Lucia! Clearly dirtier and more funky than its 6y old little brother... Alcohol content just right!

Yeah, that's a really strong one. But a rum of this quality with a screw cap?? Haha, always something new. It's definitely very roasted, but also quite smoky and woody, vanilla is recognizable.

#6145 28.12.2025 Last online tasting if the year with the guys. It's been a great year, probably one if the craziest one's ever 🥰 Met many new run friends both online and in person, travelled a lot Germany, Belgium, France and Sweden. Next year should be a bit more tranquil I hope, because I have a ton of samples 🙃 Nose Medium intense, wood, light roasted, anise, dried fruit, light vegetal, polish, light rubber, clove. Palate Warm, peppery, wood, light roasted, banana, dried fruit, light anise, anise, light smoke, light polish. Finish Long, round, warm, wood, light cherries, light banana, light polish. Empty glass Vegeral, vanilla, light cherries, banana, light floral.

Blind tasting: a pleasant sweetness in the form of honey and pineapple is noticeable on the nose. Unripe bananas followed by light glue and a combination of medicine and herbs, similar to the 2000 Long Ponds – but not identical. I like the nose very much and I would say I already know from which distillery this rum is! On the palate, the honey then fully opens up, plus there are wood aromas from the cask, which I could not perceive in this intensity on the nose. The alcohol is very well integrated and should be around ~55%. On the palate it continues just like on the nose: the honey turns into a combination of medicine and herbs – which now reminds me more of the WIRD 2000 batch than the Long Pond 2000 batch. This rum should definitely be from St. Lucia and come from the Vendom Potstill. If I didn't already have the TST Vendom 9y in mind, I would say the rum is about 13-14 years old. A medium-long finish with the same palate impressions rounds off this beautiful rum. 90 points
