Blind tasting tonight. The nose is great. A big salad of exotic fruits in the foreground. A little almond powder behind, some dried fruit, a hint of rubber. A nose that makes you want to drink it, really! I really like it. On the palate, the woodiness is more noticeable, as are certain aromas such as candied prunes. A little less fruity. A wonderful discovery, I found it really very good, but I didn't guess at all, I thought it was a Jamaican-dominated navy blend.

Part 2/8 of our 1986 Rockley tasting: distinctly more medicinal, less fruity, not as round as the Madeira finish, but more honey and honeycomb & much more intense and slightly more alcoholic. Sherry influence is there but not too much. The intense thyme-honey note on the finish is exciting!❤️🤤🍯

Great nose, you can literally smell the age. But what is that on the palate? Thin rose water? No, I can't do anything with that for the life of me. I'm really sorry, but I also find this Rockley banal on the palate. If it weren't for the smell, which makes you want more, the rum would even get 5 points less from me.

This is a rum where the nose is significantly different from the palate. Not a bad rum. It has a bite and a short kind of sweet finish. I'd say the price tag is OK.

Al naso arrostito, cioccolato al latte e un po' di catrame. Al gusto è corposo e avvolgente con note di arrostito/fumo, zucchero tostato, miele caldo e un po' di frutta dolce. Molto particolare ed espressivo con un finale morbido, nel bicchiere vuoto arrostito e sherry. Con abv più alto avrebbe fatto sicuramente meglio. Oscilla tra 89 e 91

I vecchi imbottigliamenti di Bristol mi hanno sempre attirato per la loro grande qualità! E anche qui non sono rimasto deluso! L’impronta della botte di sherry è molto significativa, con una parte importante di legno umido e tostato! Un ottimo equilibrio nei sapori! Il grado più basso questa volta non disturba ma invoglia ancora a bere in altra volta!

Wonderfully round, spicy, fruity and a wee bit medicinical with some cough drops in the nose. In the mouth cough drops and cough syrup are really present, cherries, beet juice, mediterranean herbs and some sweetened coffee notes. You can smeel and taste the age, but the nose is clearly the best part here.
