This is a other surprisingly good rum. Naturally sweet and I think even a beginner in the Agricole world woul like this one. A young rum that is pretty complex of its age, fruity with spices, yum. Price to quality is very good.

Small HSE tasting: Good sherry finish, still present agricole. For me round but nothing you'd need a bottle of. Spices are very pronounced as well as fruity grape notes paired with light caramel notes.

Excellent sherry rum

The finish was done for 1 year in casks that previously contained Sherry: English term for Xérès (white wine from Andalusia). More precisely Fino (15.5%) and Oloroso (18%): sherry wines fortified with spirits. This is the opposite of the La Tour Blanche finish, the nose is on dried fruits and wood. With Madeira-like notes. An intriguing nose. And on the palate, it's a pleasant surprise. It's balanced, you find the woody notes from the nose, notes of sherry, warmth. It's dry and long. It has a really nice length for 45%.

On the nose it's clearly marked by the fortified wine Sherry, like its younger cousin the Port Cask. But here no red fruit aromas, the aromas of fortified wine, floral notes, nuts and oxidation predominate. With a nice roundness and a certain gourmandise brought by notes of brown sugar and caramel. On the palate the rum is well integrated and well balanced with its finish. Unlike the Port finish where the rum was clearly knocked out by the port, here the match will be decided on points... On the palate we find these oxidative aromas well balanced with the sweetness and the juice sufficiently powerful and complex to support this Sherry finish. At the end of the palate the length is correct but bitterness predominates, too bad this final clap leaves a little taste of unfinished or ended too quickly...
