Mr. Finton's

Bargain-hunters who want a cheap discounter bottle for cola and cocktails are the honest audience here. Expect a fruity, vanilla-and-chocolate nose that reads more like fruit schnapps than rum, then a thin, sweet, spirity palate with a sharp alcoholic edge. Several tasters say it "has little to do with rum." One member even likens the bottle to a pharmacy.

This rum would probably not be recognized as a rum in a blind tasting. For 40% it is quite tangy and smells more like a fruit brandy than a rum. Light amber in color it is certainly colored and sweetened. The base could be a Foursquare diluted almost beyond recognition with neutral alcohol. Quite little wood, quite sweet, with little spice. The taste has probably fallen victim to the price of 8.99€.

This rum has a fruity nose, also with some vanilla and chocolate. In the mouth disappointingly thin, somewhat sweet, alcoholic spicy and fruity. Nothing new in the short finish. Overall, a rather unspectacular rum.

Color is not, in my opinion, natural from barrel aging. Nose is a little bit strange, almost grappa like. On palate it's light bodied, thin, alcoholic sharp and it feels like dilutaded rum with some neutral alcohol. Finish is short and bitter. It really is just on the edge of drinkability.

Stehen lassen, weitergehen.

Za tu cenu asi není úplně špatný, ale dal jsem mu 3 šance a nakonec šel do drinků a čaje kde mi naopak chutnal. Pro mě suchej esterovej alkoholovej rum. Lahev mi připomíná lékárnu a rum ve finále taky.
