This is a relatively inexpensive rum that you can buy at the discount store. For that, not bad at all. Tastes slightly like fruit brandy but not necessarily strong in flavor. Citrus fruits come through lightly.

Honestly, for a cheap rum from the supermarket, really not bad. Thanks to my Vrudrr for buying it. It doesn't have typical rum notes and leans more towards fruit brandy, but it's something different.

This rum would probably not be recognized as a rum in a blind tasting. For 40% it is quite tangy and smells more like a fruit brandy than a rum. Light amber in color it is certainly colored and sweetened. The base could be a Foursquare diluted almost beyond recognition with neutral alcohol. Quite little wood, quite sweet, with little spice. The taste has probably fallen victim to the price of 8.99€.

Cheap rum in a nice bottle from Lidl. What to think of the content, I don’t really know. On the nose it initially comes out positive, quite fruity besides the alcohol. On the palate then very thin, alcoholic and unfortunately does not convince with cola either.

This rum has a fruity nose, also with some vanilla and chocolate. In the mouth disappointingly thin, somewhat sweet, alcoholic spicy and fruity. Nothing new in the short finish. Overall, a rather unspectacular rum.

Well, of course you can't expect much for under 9€, it's probably drinkable with a lot of cola and ice, but I'm not the standard. For me personally, it doesn't need to be sold. What I personally really like is the apothecary bottle, something completely different and it sets itself apart from all the others. But a bottle alone is worth nothing if the content is modest, but normally for under 9€ you can't and shouldn't expect good quality with nice and long barrel aging. The rating is purely based on my feeling, a 4.5 out of 10 points, only the bottle and the idea made it even reach the 4.5 points.

Alcoholic, brandy-like, a bit of vanilla and chocolate and that's it. Nothing going on here except alcoholic sting. On the palate it's similar. More like fruit brandy, sweet, a hint of chocolate and over everything cheap booze. Leave it, move on.

For the price, probably not too bad, but I gave it 3 chances and in the end it went into drinks and tea where I actually liked it. For me a dry ester alcoholic rum. The bottle reminds me of a pharmacy and the rum in the finish too.

Color is not, in my opinion, natural from barrel aging. Nose is a little bit strange, almost grappa like. On palate it's light bodied, thin, alcoholic sharp and it feels like dilutaded rum with some neutral alcohol. Finish is short and bitter. It really is just on the edge of drinkability.

Q4 2023. appears to me as identical to Edeka Montajo 40 Ubersee rum. Jamaican funky notes blended with industrial ethanol. Like Pott’s but better. Rumbonen rum :p
