The Rum Mercenary & Kintra Caroni HTR 1998
One taster called the nose "horrible" — burnt plastic and karting-track exhaust — then admitted the palate wins you back. That's this 1998 Caroni: tar, banana and coffee up front at 55%, but with an unusual floral streak of rose and violet running underneath. A few note sherry-cask red fruit and rubber too. Powerful, heavy, and long on a warm finish.

On a un nez avec moins de notes empyreumatiques que d’accoutumé avec Caroni, c’est dense, c’est fruité (banane) mais on retrouve par la suite les marqueurs typiques de Caroni avec la ligne de départ d’une course de Karting. En bouche, c’est puissant et lourd, on retrouve la banane du nez, du vernis et on retourne dans les pots d’échappements de notre course de karting. Mais ce qui m’interpelle le plus sur ce Caroni, ce sont ses notes végétales et florales (rose-violette). La finale est chaude et c’est bon. Un vrai rum de pirate comme nous l’annonçait l’étiquette !

Premier caroni pour moi.. Assez abordable.. Nez horrible avec ce goût de plastique brûlé.. En bouche c'est mieux.. Mélange de café et de goudron... C'est très particulier

Mild and sweet but low Caroni ... Caroni je destilerie z Trinidadu, produkujici v dobe sve nejvetsi slavy rum, ktery se pridaval v pomeru 1:10 do namornickeho blendu. Byl totiz moc vyrazny a divny nez aby byl prijemny na jazyku. V roce 2000 destilerka skoncila s produkci a byla uzavrena. Az v roce 2010 se objevili degustatori, kteri si rum oblibili prave pro jeho specialni chut. A zajem rostl. Caroni patri do kategorie rumu "you need to try before you die". Doporucuji, Caroni je opravdu unikatni rum.
